Default Things that shouldn't be funny... but they are

The following quotes from the wikipedia article about chincillas have been making me crack up for the last 15 minutes:

"Chinchillas can be very docile if given sufficient attention."

"A wet chinchilla must be dried immediately with towels and a no-heat hair dryer."

"Chinchillas eat and digest desert grasses and cannot efficiently process fatty foods, high protein foods or too many green plants. A high quality, hay-based pellet and a constant supply of loose hay will sufficiently meet all of their dietary needs."

Anyone else have some examples?

I don't find any of those particularly funny, but when I researched chinchillas a while back (for my daughter..we ended up with a hamster), I learned they can aim pee at you from quite far away. I found that hysterically funny...and also quite offputting. I decided I didn't care how damn soft they are, I did not want chinchilla pee on me or my house.

Anyway, why must they be dried immediately? What are they, like, Gremlins?

Well, they come from a dry, dusty place, so maybe they're not well-adapted to getting wet? In which case, why bathe them in water in the first place, though...

Chinchillas are ridiculously high maintenance. I had a friend of mine who had one, and it was cute and soft (apart from the odd papery ears) but DANG.

I was reading medical records at work today. A patient had a bike accident and went over the handlebars when she hit something. At midnight. While intoxicated. Mean, I know, but it struck me as inappropriately funny.

Ha -- that video! The car that burst into flames before it even hit anything . . .

I am bad. I laughed at most of it. I think it was the stagy screaming.

Hee...huge flames from crashing into a parked car?

The stagy screaming/distressed sounds, the music, the spliced in "doom" scene (lit in blue) and the multiple different "perfect storm" combinations leading to the disasters did me in.

At the last office I worked in, they showed this for safety training. We were actually laughing out loud (so hard not to!) and the safety training guy was so offended. Our boss was laughing right along with us, though, so no one got in trouble.

I noticed that too. I backed up the video to make sure I saw it correctly.

It only takes a second...
I had the volume turned up when the video started & hubby heard the beeping & wanted to know if something was going to blow up...
Funny stuff!

Lolo...I see lots of those kinds of reports & admit I have chuckled a time or two [or three..or..lol] At the Citizen Police Academy last nite, the Captain who is over all the patrol was sharing some stories w/ us. He is a classic class clown anyway & admittedly, some of us couldn't stop laughing at some of the things folks do...lol

I was watching some show (I think it was "I shouldn't be alive") and this lady was talking about how she got attacked by a bobcat and she has a huge scar on her face. It's supposed to be all intense and she is relating how she was biking with a friend and saw movement out of the corner of her eye. She said she thought it might be a deer.

Then the bobcat leaps and bites her face. When it bit down and she felt the pain of her face ripping off, she just goes "And that's when I knew it wasn't a deer." Something about that statement just cracked me up. I wanted to make a spoof. "And that's when I knew it wasn't a turtle."

Eek...is it only me who was totally freaked out by the 'hilarious' safety vid? I know it's all incredibly unlikely...but c'mon, foot under the lawn mower! Ouch. And anything to do with people being dragged into conveyer belt-type things...argh. I couldn't even watch it to the end.
