GUANO: i remember my freshman yr of college during my computer science class, we were talking about .com, .edu, .gov and the differences all all that. so my teacher was like, if you want to go on a government site, like for the white house, you would type whitehouse.gov . my male friend with a slick mouth was like, not whitehouse.com right, and just started laughing. i didnt get. the 2nd half of the class was lab time so i wanted to know what male friend was talking about. i went to whitehouse.com and i got like a million porn pop ups during class... wow was i embarrassed!! my aunt goes clubbing and shes almost hitting 50. she goes to dance with her husband and listen to music and sometimes me and my cousin go with her bc shes tons of fun. its not like shes going there to try to hook up, and there are limited good spanish clubs in Atlanta, so you gotta do what you gotta do!

i have a bigger problem with under 21 clubs. i met a really cute guy once who ended up being a teenager!!!

I'm almost 39. I actually look a lot younger. I LOOOVE to dance and am a pretty good dancer, but I don't like how people party now. I like having an actual REASON to put on makeup, wear a nice outfit, and fix up my hair to hear and dance to music I love.

I had a friend (she and her friends were 25 to 30).....whom I used to go out with, but I can't get with the scene (or her) anymore. I've never been a big flirter and I don't drink much. Some of these guys nowadays are so........

Unfortunately, most women my age around here don't like to do much of anything. I wish I had a 35-and-up club buddy........not frequently, mind you......because sometimes a chick just needs to get out and away from housework and kids.

And I refuse to go to any nightclub where there's no dress code. I wear t-shirts, jeans, flip-flops and sneakers EVERY DAY.....and don't feel like wearing them to go "out". That's just me, though.

We don't go to clubs. We're more of the local dive bar type. There are two bars near us at have local bands playing on weekends so we go there if we feel like socializing. I don't care for club music anyway and much prefer live bands.

Oh, and there's a karaoke bar down the road too and we go there from time to time.

Guano - You're in Atlanta? What are some good latin clubs in Atlanta? I've been to la rumba but it's 18 up and on some nights it looks like it's hs night.

For the OP, I don't know what the upper age limit is for me. Some of my friends used to talk about how some of the people at the clubs were so old(this is years back) and thought they shouldn't be there. I never cared as long as there were a good amount of people in my age range too. I always knew I'd be one of those 'old' people one day and honestly I kinda prefer the crowd be a bit more towards the older side than the younger side.

I'm 43, and I probably look 30-32 in daylight (with the help of my meow makeup) (sarasara knows what I look like and could confirm [or deny!] this) and probably could pass for 25-ish in a dimly-lit club after everyone has had a few drinks. Honestly, it just doesn't seem like fun to me anymore. I personally would feel like a poser going to a club like that now. The last time I went out like that I think I was 31. I just feel too disconnected with the culture of that generation now. :shuffles back over to rocking chair:

Ha! I took my youngest son and some of his friends to a concert several years ago and when I went to the ladies room, a couple of girls accused me of being a cop. LOL, I guess I looked like an authority figure, aka MOM.

I'm 24 and I got over the clubbing thing years ago, here is Australia the legal drinking age is 18 so I guess we get it out of our systems a little earlier . I do have friends who still like to go, but most of us would much rather go out to dinner or a quiet pub. I guess it depends on the individual's needs and energy levels. I've never looked at someone and thought they were too old to be somewhere, and really who cares?! If you're worried about being to "mature" to be somewhere, just take along a few friends your age.

If I saw someone over 45 at a club I'd probably laugh my a$$ off. Honestly, I would. There's nothing quite as tacky as a 50-something granny and her cackling old girlfriends trying to get it on with the 20-something men. I laugh equally hard when the old pervy bachelors (40+) go trolling clubs trying to look "cool" for the college girls. Ahahaha! I love it: "Can I buy you a drink, beautiful?" Hahaha, thanks grandpa...but NO.

Women in the 35-45 range I'd raise an eyebrow at or roll my eyes. I might think "go somewhere else" if they're being overly obnoxious as a group.

Edit:If i see a older women say in their 40s dancing in clubs i dont care really .My mom took me out clubbing when i turned 21 , it was country dancing clubs and we had so much fun , we went put 3 times a week. The last time my mom went out dancing with my friends and i were a year ago and shes 66! She just goes out to dance country line dancing and has fun!

The club I go to has people from ages 21 to 55 probably. Its a very good time because its great to see older generations still out there having fun.

I am not sure there is an age limit, but rather a dress code that should be followed. I really only notice an older person if they are dressed too young or are just trying too hard.

I will say this. More often than not, the places I go play the old school music of my youth or older.

I thought you were in high school. Are you even old enough to get in clubs?

I have put in my time with clubs and bars (I only go to bars for grown ups now) and while I reallllly enjoyed it at the time I'm over it and I don't really want to go back.

hahaha I've just very recently started feeling self conscious about this and asking myself "am I noticably older than the rest of the chicks here tonight???"

I still get carded almost 100% of the time (even in the supermarket and in restaurants) so for now I guess I'm OK.

I may be a year away from this age range, but trust me- those of us who are there because we love the music are thinking the exact same thing about the younger people who don't know a thing about it and are just out to act like annoying idiots.

BTW, I've seen elderly (like, in their 70s) gentlemen in clubs, on the floor doing their thang. Or at least, as much thang as their joints can handle. More f'in power to 'em!

I like this video....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRGuGWkxTf4

If I was in my 20's I wouldn't want people my parent's age at the club I was going to and I definitely wouldn't want someone my Mom's age hooking up with someone my age.

The places for older people play either the oldies or jazz. Some of us like the new music and like to dance to it.

THANK YOU.

Around here, are hardly any places like what you described, hence I don't go out much. (not that I was a club-queen once I hit about 27, I more or less stopped after that, ever since then it's been maybe twice a year) If there were some places like that, I'd be happy to have Girl's Night Out sometimes, with a crowd in my age range.
