Default I Feel Old

Lately I'm feeling old. I hurt my back last month; had a tooth problem; and now my sinuses ache --- a lot.

It's as if my body decided, "She just turned 40+; I'm taking a break from being healthy."

Sheesh. Is this temporary, or a harbinger of things to come?

I hope it's temporary Ninja!

Sorry you've been feeling rickety lately.

It must just be a bout of aches and pains.

((hugs)) hope you get back to being our spry Ninja soon.

Aw, thank you, Minxy.

I just don't feel the usual urge to scale walls in silence, lately. I'm relying on throwing stars far too much.

Blah.

Are you in your new apartment yet? Are you going to post pics (please)?

Girl, I feel you. When I turned 40 I got tendinitis in my hand-- so not good for a stenographer. When I went to the hand doctor he said, "Well, not that you're 40 and peri-menopausal, your body is going through a lot of changes and sometimes this is an example of it."

I was like .

lol, those aren't really old people problems.
you injured your back, not that it just started hurting out of the blue.
old people pain is, i can't bend down or get up out of bed like i used to.
i can't walk up the steps without feeling very tired or my feet hurting.
my knees ache whenever it rains.
the bones in my hands hurt all the time.
everyday i have to take pain killers just to function.
you're just going through a bad patch.
you're not old.
60 is the new 40 and 40 is the new 30!

SC, did you change doctors? I like docs who believe I should be fit as a fiddle, regardless. (Yes, they're hard to find. But I think I may have found one: she gave me animal crackers after I waited an extra-long time to see her!)

Frau, thank you. I will try to tough this out instead of feeling sorry for myself. But, I do feel a little sorry. After all, apparently, I'm only 30!

Nah. He was helpful regardless... especially when he told me that I wasn't going to have to stop working and told me how to minimize the discomfort. I have flare-ups every now and then (I'm having one this week because I'm doing a lot of overtime), but I know how to deal.

I'm glad to hear 40 is the new 30, though. Because I've been feeling kid of old.

Yeah, apparently Frau can rearrange our ages.

Can we be 35 at 50, Frau? Please?

Those just happen to be a series of unfortunate events, ninja.
But maybe you could go out for a walk or jog to feel a bit more active?
Hope you feel better soon.

Yes! I'm in Ninja.

I moved my stuff in on Wednesday morning and then I went to work. So I was only able to organize in the evenings. Yesterday I kicked butt and now I just need shelf liner before I can finish my kitchen.

I will definitely post pictures. I love this place!

Sorry to guano your thread.

Back to topic.

Well as long as you can still reach behind you to grab the stars, you can't be too old right? And if you are still having accurate aim, I'm voting this temporary.

You'll be scaling walls stealthily in no time!

CM, get going on those pics.

Saria, I did: I walked the big dogs this morning while I felt more energetic. I confess to keeping the remote collar a little higher so there was no pulling at all --- I'm too pooped to indulge any playful barking or "who was here before me and piddled?" investigation.

I think I need a big serving of your sweet corn ice cream to get better. It's like the new Fountain of Youth!

If you had posted that you lost an inch in height, forgot something incredibly important, were sprouting coarse hair on your face, had no sex drive, and could not lose 15 pounds even while fasting -- I'd say, yup, old age. But back injuries, sinus and teeth problems have nothing to do with old age, and all can be reversed. I hope you feel better {{hugs}}

Well,it is very fresh-tasting and delicious, so I think it might help.

I'm sure when we have the trollopy curly meeting you'll be the youngest one of all!

Minxy, I can't wait to get the keys and post some pics of the place I'm moving to, so I know how exciting this must be.

SBB, the coarse hair on my face and the low sex drive are concurrent with everything else: "ugh! I just looked at my chinny-chin-chin!" & "ugh! my back hurts! the only thing I'm sleeping with is dogs!"

Sigh.

But, thanks, all.

May we all feel "fresh as a daisy."

I feel for you Ninja. I started working out over a couple of months and then began a more rigorous workout. After about three weeks I started having major knee pain and took a break. Then I had a mole removed from my foot the week I was told I could return to the gym and I started having complications from that. Then I got a serious cold which I'm still trying to shake off.

I agree it's probably a series of unfortunate events...not age. I'm only 31 almost 32.

Nah, Ninja Doggie, it isn't becoming old...it's called life. We get tired, we hurt, and then we need to rest and take a vacation and drink tropical drinks and then we're all better.
