Appropriate for pre-schoolers???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-SZYZLfZ7E
This is an episode from 'Big Art For Little People' for pre-schoolers in Europe.
If I saw this video at 4yrs old I think I would have nightmares.

i think its hilarious. the bunny's facial expression when it's next to the heat lamp was priceless. and no, i would not show this to a bunch of toddlers.

Why waste chocolate bunnies?? And yeah, it's a bit creepy to see something with a face being killed slowly by some evil disembodied hand. I sure wouldn't want to have seen it as a four year old.

Weird. I don't think my preschooler would be scared of it, though.

Weird yes but so is Yo Gabba Gabba, Teletubbies, and Boombah and we show those to our preschoolers all the time.

Forget about being scared, I know a couple of preschoolers that would be making their own 'melt the bunny' art at home. I can just imagine them singing "laa, laa, laa, la, la, la, la, la, la" while they did it, too.

I'll show it to my preschooler tomorrow and report back.
I don't think it will scare him .... its a chocolate bunny after all. You are supposed to bite their heads off.

lol, I'm with CurlyCurlies...I think the video would plant an interesting "lets experiment with melting chocolate" bug in my kids' minds. Interesting video, how many ways can we melt a chocolate bunny.?

I didn't watch the whole thing because it creeped me out right from the start! That chocolate bunny was all cute and happy until a big evil iron started melting it. I'm sorry, I know it's just a cartoon, but I thought it was cruel and might really be scary or sad to preschoolers.

You know how this would end in my house:
Where is the chocolate bunny? Do we have a chocolate bunny? Do *I* have a chocolate bunny? Let's get a chocolate bunny!
This would go on for weeks. But there is no way she'd sit through the whole thing. I didn't even make it half way. It's kind of boring.

thats exactly how it would work in my house too. she has one hell of a memory so there is no way that she would ever be able to walk by another chocolate bunny again without trying to destroy it with heat.

Don't get me started on Teletubbies. That isht is DISTURBING. TVs in their bellies that replay what they just showed to encourage the attention span of a gnat, evil baby dictator sun coming out to make them scramble into their homes -- guh. I'm scared of it and I'm way out of preschool. I am glad I don't know about the others as my sibling and cousins are far too old now.

I would never show that to my four year old...I think it would definately traumatize them. What exactly would they get out of watching that video anyway?
Europeans are weird sometimes with what they consider "art".

What I don't understand is how this is wrong when we give kids chocolate bunnies at Easter, to eat! At some point the bunny's going to be destroyed that way as well.
It's a little weird, but I don't see the big deal. My daughter would probably laugh at this.

All of your responses have been very interesting. The video wasn't mean to be a "big deal" I just wanted to know your thoughts on it and whether or not you'd deem it "appropriate" for pre-schoolers. This would traumatize me as a 4yr old.
And yes, Teletubbies FREAKS ME OUT too! That show gives me the creeps! *shudder* I can't watch the show or I'll dream of Laa-Laa, Po, and Twinky trying to kill me in my sleep!

Tell me THAT isn't scary!!!

Well, I took a chance and showed this to my 3-year-old daughter. She wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over. She thought it was funny and cool. Huh.

It's a little odd calling it art but I don't think it would scare my kids they'd most likely laugh and then throw a fit because they want a chocolate bunny to eat. That's the main reason I wouldn't let them watch it because then whining would never stop.
