this reminded me of my 13 hour flight from Taiwan earlier this summer. this child in front of me was not just crying but screaming at the top of his lungs for parts of the flight. the whole crew including the pilots at one point attempted to help the parents. i felt so bad for them. all i could do was put on my mp3 and turned the volume full blast. i love children as much as anyone but parts of those 13 hours i had very ugly thoughts.

Me neither. I'd rather save money and deal with the 'less classy' folks. What other people wear don't bother me.

I did sit next to a screaming kid once which was annoying but what I didn't like was that he would kick me and the mom wouldn't even say anything or try to stop it. I think I was too tired to care, but I get mad at myself for not saying anything to her.

Seriously. If you really want to pay more, can't you just... buy tickets in first class???

I guess I don't understand why parents would specifically buy biz class tickets for little kids. First class, yes, sure. But biz class? The asumption would be that people might be trying to do work while flying and wouldn't want to be disturbed.

But, then again, it's not like there is a 10 ft. concrete wall that separates biz class or first class from coach. If a kid is screaming, you'll probably hear him/her from anywhere on the plane.

I recently took my kids on their first flight (coach). The 1.5 year old kicked the chair in front, on and off, a few times. I'd get him to stop but he'd do it again soon enough. And he cried for a few minutes b/c he was getting sleepy. My 4.5 year old was fine except she kept opening and closing the fold out lunch tray. Personally, I was pleased by how well they behaved and if anyone had any complaints about those few things, I'd tell them "TOO BAD!"

THANK YOU! I was taught to look nice when you travel. I do not, however, want them to jack up the price. I wouldn't be able to afford it. I'm still classy

If any of you ever see me roaming the outside world, beyond my mailbox, in some jammies, tie me to the nearest post and call my mother. Obviously there is Trouble in River City.

Airtran and Delta have been getting ghetto too. Sometimes the flight attendants are sooo rude too.

LOL...this thread makes me think a lot of people probably agree with the paraphrase of Sartre that "hell is other people."
