I spent most of Friday evening writing a paper that needed to get done. Then my boyfriend took me out for pizza and beer. Mmm. I fell asleep almost directly after we ate...I was exhausted.

My parents visited me at school today. My sweetie and I took them to the Arlington Street Fair and we spent a few hours there browsing and trying out chilli as part of the NY State Chilli Cook-Off. The chilli wasn't so great, but I don't like chilli. We went for a hike down by the farm, grabbed dinner afterward. Before bed, my boyfriend and I watched this circus group perform a fire show outside of my window.

Tomorrow we'll take them out for breakfast before they leave, and then I need to DO WORK. Reading, writing, and gym. Yes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DAD!

My dad has dementia, but now that he's on meds my mom says he's doing really well and I don't think others sense anything is wrong with him. I still don't think he should be driving anymore. But he's always been very independent and not driving would be very hard on him IMO. I'd be afraid that he'd decline very quickly if we took that away from him, although the alternative is even worse...

One time, when I was riding with him he stopped to let another car go by.. Trouble is, we were on the train tracks at the time! Dad's always been a risk taker like that. But I don't know if that means he's normal now or that he's shown signs of dementia ever since I can remember and we just didn't recognize them.

at least your dad sounds like a nice person(i dont get along with mine.) your father sounds exactly like my dad. fiercly independent. he lives by himself because he likes it that way. im not sure he has dementia but hes very forgetful. last summer i had lunch with him at an asian mall and after i left him an hour later he calls and asked me to help him find his car. so i went back and we walked all around the parking lot for an hour before we found it.

sorry for the guano ZARIA**

I haven't had any work to do all weekend, which is unusual. So I've basically been fighting the urge to check my e-mail and getting anxious because what if something happened?

Ugh. Is there a Workaholics Anonymous?

Did some babysitting and studying yesterday, and today I'm moping around because my date for tonight canceled on me at the last minute and I don't want to go to the opera alone. Super bummed about it. And contemplating revenge. It's La Boheme, people! *cries*

laundry,
cleaning,
revise son's home work,
watch the kids play (they run from neighbor's house to neighbor's hose and make me wonder where they are),
church,
make meals,
went out to dinner with bf, son and bf's daughter,
weight watchers meeting,
food shopping
watched two episodes of 6 feet under.

And son's football was cancelled and ex husband took son to soccer game, otherwise I would have had to fit that in too!
Exciting stuff...

And cut the lawn...I relax at work.

I am so sorry for your Dads dementia. I work with elderly suffered from this and it is very hard on the family members. I am happy to hear the meds are working for him, thats great news! PLEASE be careful that you guys are letting him still drive, this could lead to him getting lost and not being able to find his way home...Does he have a cell phone..Maybe you can get a tracking device on his car...I hope the best for you and your family...

I had a very 'couply' weekend.

Went out with boyfriend Friday night and ran into a friend of mine (and her boyfriend) who was in town for a wedding. Funny, she texted me and told me to come where we were going anyways and I ignored it because I didn't recognize the number at all(got a new phone without updating the phonebook). I thought it was some guy I met a while ago sending me a random text since I remember meeting quite a few dudes there.

Saturday my friend invited us to meet up with her new boyfriend which she's most likely going to marry(kind of an arranged type marriage deal). Me and her aren't great friends anymore but I was curious to meet the guy. We hate the guy.

Sunday was a lazy do nothing day.
