Coming fresh off a wedding this weekend, I say no. The ceiling is not going to be in your pictures. Get the table decorations (which will also be a blur in no time) and get some paper laterns.

Save the money for something else or find someone else. If you don't find something, us curlies will come down and do it for you

I like it better without all the decorations, too. If the extra cost is not going to really hurt you, you should do it, since it seems you really want it. I would agree that I'd rather save the money for the actual marriage.

Thank you everyone for your votes and advice.

So this is what we are doing - I finally got the final quote from Designer A (the expensive guy). I am going to respond to him tomorrow and tell him about my budget and ask how can he fit a plan into that dollar amount.

In the meantime, I have also found 3 additional designers who have all worked at the Museum and I am getting proposals/quotes from them.

So far, I am finding great variances in prices. And of course, I will go with the person who has the best package for the my budget.

I was so gung-ho about going with Designer A because he totally had me imagining this lavish beautiful wedding. Sometimes, I can let my imagination get away from me!

So, thanks to all of you for calming me down. I am now exploring better options that better fit my budget.

It's exciting and scary all at the same time!
