Same here. Some have less than others and I did not realize the 2 pairs I recently bought had so much in them. When I try them on they are tight and I know they should be so I buy them. Arrgh. The ones I have recently bought were Gap 1969 brand and LC brand-both straight/skinny styles. It's funny-the one pair I bought from Chicos-black straight leg ones- (and I was embarrassed to admit I bought jeans there) are the ones that fit the best and apparently have less lycra in them. Go figure.

Some of my Lucky jeans are 100%. One pair has 1% spandex, but I could have sworn it was all cotton because it doesn't go anywhere. I do have one pair that is stretchy from them and it drives me nuts to feel them sliding.

I thought it was just me to itch like mad when wearing bottoms that contain any of the stretch fabric, but a neighbor said she does too! I wonder if it's an allergy.

But yes, I hate the stuff & want inexpensive 100% cotton jeans again!

That's ridiculous. They sell women's clothing, not juniors, not high fashion, but hardly "old lady".

Nothing.

(I was thinking the same thing as PartyHair but it did not stop me from buying them).

The gap ones I just bought - the 1969 brand - have 2%. I think 2% is too much-1% should be the max I think.

i havent check my tags but i need stretch jeans. i'm pretty much in between sizes. if they actually fit my legs, they swim around my waist and i get the crotch sag. if they fit my waist, then they are tight on my legs and flatten out my butt!!! i really can only buy jeans from limited stores because i already know the fit. i can't venture out and just grab a size that is technically my size and have it fit!!!!! so with stretch jeans, i always buy the smaller size that fits my waist because i know the legs will eventually stretch out to fit me. i usually wear them around the house, do some lunges and stretches and eventually, they are my perfect my fit.

i guess i shouldnt go thru so much with jeans tho, right? now i'm sad. i guess they can't make jeans that just fit!

Oh god, I do NOT want totally non-stretch jeans. If they stop making jeans with a little bit of stretch I will travel to the ends of the earth to stockpile enough to last the rest of my life.

I only have one pair of jeans with lycra. I hate stretchy pants(even with just a little). They cling too much and make my thighs looks too 'sausagy' but they do make my butt look a little bigger maybe since they do cling more? I have the opposite problem - the stretch jeans I have don't sag much but the all cotton ones sag more on me.

I'm surprised that anyone finds it hard to get 100% cotton jeans, most of the jeans I come across don't have lycra.

I agree with everyone.

I hate lycra with a passion.

It seems that the jeans stretch out of shape after a while. Pity..spend a lot of money on jeans and cannot get a decent fit.

Ladies, you need to buy one size smaller and wear a belt.
You should buy the smallest size that you can close. Not the size that 'fits' right in the store.
I normally wear an 8 in pants, my jeans are a 6.
I used to hardly ever wear jeans. I tought they were beyond uncomfortable years ago. NOw I like them.

i have to have a lil stretch in my jeans.. I dont have a big bum, but my thighs & calves need it other wise it would be a mess. the only brand on non stretch jeans I wear are joes jeans. their cuts are flattering . @ subrock, I get my favorite stretch jeans from urban outfitters. they cary a brand called BDG.. I have about 4 or 5 pairs in dif washes & lengths.

I also find it frustrating when I buy a pair of jeans that fit well and then they are baggy within an hour of wearing them. I find it's the waistband and crotch area that goes baggy on me.

If I bought a size smaller I wouldn't be able to breath! And I really don't like belts much. And I still love stretchy jeans, I just wish they would stretch so much!
I got a new pair of jeans the other day on ebay. Some cheap unknown brand, Govanni I think. I needed some skinny jeans to wear under boots and wanted something cheap so I bought a different brand than my favorite Vigoss.
I immediately take all tags out of my clothes so I don't know the percentage of lycra but I've had them on all day and have gotten on and off the motorcycle a bunch of times, and so far so good. Had to tug a couple times but not bad and they've held their shape.
I feel a jeans buying spree coming soon! : )
