Avocados

Mmmm...I like them in many of the ways people have already said (especially on BLTs!), but I really love to mix up some balsamic vinegar, garlic salt, and olive oil and let avocado slices marinade in that for a few minutes before eating them...so tasty!!

I love them. I have a tasty recipe for southwestern soup with avocado if you'd like it.

I've been eating avocados my whole life and have never worried about the fat content. Come to think of it, I rarely worry about fat in my food. Fat is good. It makes you feel full and satisfied.
I love a sandwich of thinly sliced avocados sprinkled with sea salt, a bit of freshly ground pepper, and lemon juice (especially if Meyer lemons are around) on crusty bread.
That and parsnips browned in butter and drizzled with maple syrup are my two favorite, unusual ways to start the day.

Heh, have some celery to balance it out. Takes more calories to consume and digest than you get back.
(how silly that this is one of my first posts...but I could just feel the avacado-talk calling me! haha)

I LOVE avacado!! Have you ever grilled it? SO GOOD!!!

You have the right idea though, that if you want to add one daily you just need to cut back a little somewhere else. It's like nuts and nut butters - calorie dense but still good for you.

From the link in my previous post:

A recommended serving size is 2 tablespoons, or roughly one-sixth of a medium-sized avocado. Each serving provides 5 grams of fat and 55 calories. Still, compared with butter or mayonnaise -- which each pack 22 fat grams and 200 calories in a 2-tablespoon serving -- they don't seem so bad.
Sorry if I sound a bit overzealous. Like I said: I love avocados!
im an avocado fiend. I eat them alone W/ salt & pepper, on roasted turkey sandwiches w/ roasted red peppers & red onions & my all time favorite is in an omelete with sauteed onions and cheese... and a side of turkey bacon

I love them. Pure addiction. That silky melt in your mouth texture. I've often thought of moving where I could grow avocados in my yard. And forget that 1/6 avocado serving. I will make guac with 2 or 3 avocados and eat it all in a day.
And I would never waste a precious perfect avocado in my hair!
