I got my other tragus pierced today. It's still red and a little swollen.

I'm providing links because I can't resize the images and don't want to blow the page out.

Here's my nape:

And my snug (wet from cleaning):

And my tragus and helix:

I'm getting my helix repierced at the end of the month. The first time went through a blood vessel, and that causes me some trouble. I'm also having an MRI at the end of the month, so things are going to get interesting. Using retainers in the cartilage won't be a problem, but the nape is going to be trickier. I found a fantastic piercer who ordered a special bar for me to use for the day, and she's going to take everything in and out for me. I'm really proud of my nape piercing and hope I don't lose it in the process.

ETA: And congrats on the new piercing! I love having cartilage pierced, and I don't have plans for anything more, so I'm really excited about having my helix redone!
Under construction.

B. Your nape? How, exactly, does that work?

Don't forget your sea salt rinses.. Those were the only way I could get my tragus to heal.

I'm pretty much done with piercings, 10g holes in the lobes, tragus and cartlige. Had a tongue, but couldn't get a bar to fit just right(its me, not the hardware). I miss that one.. It was fun to have..

It's a surface piercing, done with a surface bar. They're really difficult to heal, so I did my research and picked a well-known, experienced and reputable piercer. There are a couple methods for these. He used a 12ga needle, stuck it through my nape, then used a feeder tube to slide the 14ga surface bar in, short side first. Then he just rotated it the right way and screwed on the other disk. If you touch the skin in between the disks, you can actually feel the bar.

My mother was not at all pleased with the nape piercing. Or any of the others.

(But neither was the doc who ordered the MRI: "Don't worry, you'll look much better without them.")

I have none to share as I only have a couple of boring ones. My ears, which I only wear the first hole on occasion - the second and thirds go empty. My helix I don't wear too often, but still like it, just can't sleep on it so I don't bother much. And my nose, which I wear always and love, but is pretty popular.

I will be getting a Monroe at some point because I've wanted it forever. I crave a lebret, but due to the damage it does, won't be getting it.

Once my friend told me the surface piercings she had on her chest were temporary, I was incredibly intrigued on that one as well.

I want an industrial sooo badly.

I have a helix that I did myself when I was about 13.
I don't have anything funky, but my son has those big plugs and I pretty much hate 'em.
He's going to one inch now-I actually didn't mind when they were 1/2 inch last spring.

Other than three in each ear lobe and 2 in the top of one ear in the cartilage I'm rather boring! I fancied having a nose stud but haven't been brave enough.

DD has her navel pierced. She also had a nose stud but school clamped down and she had to take it out.

I've got my nose pierced and a monroe. Also my navel and some ear piercings including my cartilage. I used to have "down there" pierced and my tongue too but have taken them out. I'm happy with all I have now and am done. Tattooes on the other hand ...

It was actually hard for me to find a pic where you could see both facial piercings. Apparently I turn my head to pose for pics. Sorry they're big but photobucket didn't want to cooperate tonight.

This was my first (and only) cartilage piercing. Didn't hurt AT ALL! And that is what I had been dreading before getting it.

And thanks McCurlie...if it weren't for my friend scaring me into taking care of it properly, it would probably look totally different. I didn't sleep on my right side for 6 months.
