A justice of the peace, Keith Bardwell, refuses to marry inter-racial couples.
His reasoning is, is that any children produced would not be accepted in either white nor black society, and he wouldn't be responsible for that, because it would cause the child to suffer.
I strongly disagree, and I know I'm not hte only one with a foot on either side of the color line, and I think the majority of use turned out just fine.
I look white, so I've felt myself rejected by black society, but I never let that stopped me, I even ended up hosting the NAACP booth at the Indiana Black Expo one year. Sure biracial kids might face adversity (the classic What are you? Question, or the "You're half what? NO), but so do curly head kids, red heads, overweight kids, short kids. Everyone has had something picked on, and most turn out just fine.
What are your opinions?
