My husband told me that his dad is considering joining Facebook. The look on his face after he told me was like this:

I replied "Oh, so are you going to be his tech support for Facebook now too?" My husband gets a Mac-related cry for help almost every.single.weekend. FIL is very needy.

Is there a way to approve photos before they are posted on FB? Just in case some posts a revenge photo of you that's posted for 8 hours while your at work. By the time you get to untag yourself the damage is done.

Can FB just kind of 'defriend' people for you?

Going back to the cousin/mom thing that was going on...my mom said that suddenly she was not friends with my cousin, and she couldn't figure out what happened.

My mom probably wouldn't know how to defriend someone if she even tried, so I am wondering if FB just deletes friends accidentally - like a glitch type of thing...or if my cousin actually defriended my mom, then added her back making it look like it was my mom's fault?

Thoughts?

I have never had a friend mysteriously disappear unless they have defriended me for some reason.
Anything is possible, considering how buggy FB is. But based on the backstory, I'd say your mom was defriended.

Thanks and hope you're well! ~Sally.".

Of course not their real names....so I think that she defriended my mom and then realize how ****ing childish she was being...and added her back. My mom had to do the friend confirmation thing again...so my cousin is the one that sent her a request.
The "new" Facebook. Basically an updated Facebook.
Any opinions? Love it or hate it??

Personally, I don't mind. It just takes a little getting used to.

Personally I don't mind it. People do like to kvetch about change, though, and I'm sure this latest round will be no exception.
My home page ALL today was covered with "I hate the new Facebook!" messages! Sooo annoying!

I don't know if this has been asked but is there anyway to know if someone is looking at your facebook page? I have a very limited amount of info available like friends, the fact that I'm a female, what groups I belong to, etc. I had in the past left it so that anyone could search my name and send a message to friend me. If someone looked me up and clicked on my friends and looked through whatever was available would I know about it? Thanks.

Could be that he tweaked his privacy settings, but I was wondering if it was because of *me* that he might have done that.

On the top right, next to your name, click on Settings and then Privacy Settings. Then click on Profile Information. You can change it all in there. I have every setting set so only my friends can see.

Let's think about this one. It's a public internet page used to alert people you know to things or situations in life. If you don't want these people to know then don't put it up there.
My biggest pet peeve is people who post pictures of plates of food captioned with "mmm, yummy".

I don't care to see the big plate of nachos you got as an appetizer, or if you want to prove you're drinking a martini. The status updates, although sometimes annoying, I can handle. But stupid pictures like that are ridiculous.

Oh I always post pictures of food I make. Sorry, but I love cooking and am proud of some of my stuff. So if people don't like it, they can hide me. I don't care
