There were complaints about no pie. And I missed the green veg.

I've never had chicken catch-a-tori, I'mma look it up. 
Last night we had....no idea what to call it. Mexican rice bake? It was with random leftovers and odd and ends so that's what I'll call it. I did substitute 1/2 my ground beef with lentils and I loved that so I'll be doing that a lot.

We are having turkey enchiladas, which is the real reason I made a turkey on Friday. They are definitely not authentic, because I use my mom's recipe, but I love love love them.

^It means in the style of the hunter, and includes the use of mushrooms and woodsy herbs like thyme or rosemary, and wine. The French call it chasseur, but the preparation is a bit different. Rabbit cacciatore is another common preparation.

No wine in ours, but yep it's hunters stew. Rabbits, squirrels, deer, grouse, turkeys will all find their way into the pot if I have them. Today I only have chicken. : ( But lots of mushrooms, potatoes, cauliflower, tomatoes, garlic, oregano, hot pepper flakes, and a bit of parm cheese.

Southwestern chicken and barley soup topped with cheese, sour cream and crushed tortilla chips. It was teh noms.
And for the first time ever I made cornbread that was disgusting. No idea what I did, but I had to toss it all. I'll stick with my regular recipe next time...blech!

Busy week so I've been using up stuff in the freezer - chili, shrimp and pesto, cabbage rolls. I think tonite will be stuffed flounder.
Came across chicken gizzards and hearts in the freezer so that's what I ended up having for supper. yum.
