Today is Mr. Pam's birthday so I will be grilling steaks, roasting small red potatoes, and opening his favorite bottle of red.
He's a lucky guy!

We're having crunchy tacos, which I haven't made in ages! Lettuce, tomato, avocado, sour cream... is it dinner time yet?
Some sort of rice on the side and refried beans.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I'm trying to use up stuff that's in my store cupboard and freezer.
So tonight, pasta bake. Again.

Ok I'll make a list
Store cupboard:
Pasta twists
Spaghetti
Egg noodles
Lentils
Quinoa
Rice
Red kidney beans
Tinned tuna
Couscous
Tinned tomatoes
Chickpeas (in fact I'm going to soak some of these right now)
Black eyed peas
Bulger wheat
Freezer:
Beef mince
Chicken breast
Some beef (I think it's steak)
Pork sausages
And some homemade pre-made dishes.
Eggs
There's a lot more than I thought really. Just what to do with it.

Well, you do have a lot of pasta, so I see why that's your choice.
You could make chili.
Quinoa patties?
Bulgur pilaf with roast chicken breast?
Tuna noodle casserole?
Beef stew?
Fried rice?
It might not be halal, but coscous with pork sausage would be good. Usually you see merguez instead.
Tuna croquettes with tomato sauce?
Tuna empanadas?
Mujadarrah (it's fairly plain, but satisfying and comforting)

I have white chicken chili in the crockpot and I'll make some corn muffins on the side.

I need Saria in my kitchen. I have a mental block when it comes to looking at what all I have then figuring out what to make with it. Drives me INSANE. So if I could just pluck Saria out of the internet once a week, show her my pantry (that sounds dirty, sorry) and she could give me ideas based on what I already have, that would be kick ass.
My mom was a pro at this, why didn't I inherit this gene?

it skips generations, spring! my mom has only started experimenting in the kitchen now that she's retired. and she still has that Irish mentality of over-cooking everything!

I had a massive rush on this morning so didn't have breakfast. I then ate 3 chocolate biscuits and a packet of crisps at work. That's all I've had until now. I have to go to the dentist this evening and I've decided to get mcdonalds on the way home. That should give me my daily calories and happiness.
But then I have some soaked chickpeas sitting in the kitchen.
I have no idea why I have so much pasta Saria. I think I forget I've got some then buy more.

Well, I am spending a romantic Valentine's evening at home with the cat. I think she will have tuna and I will have whatever grabs my attention in the freezer - cabbage rolls? sauerkraut and pork? pot roast? meatloaf?

Aww, it was my birthday too!
Yesterday I made a shepherd's pie, but I went out to eat, so it's still waiting for me in the fridge for tonight's dinner
