Jambalaya. Chicken, shrimp, and sausage.
It came out so good even my picky "I'm not eating that, that's disgusting" 4 year old ate it!

Saria, I will grab my coat and be on my way. By the time I get to your house the liver should be done, right? : )
Tonight I had a buffalo chicken salad at Montana Steak House. It was very good and their blue cheese dressing is really good. But now I want liver.

Seriously, I'm gonna have to kill this craving soon. I keep thinking of a tender piece of liver with a nice crust, lots of onions, and deglazed with Madeira or sherry, making delicious sauce to sop up. Maybe some roasted or grilled mushrooms to do the sopping up. *wipes drool*
And then of course there's the matter of some stir-fried chicken livers . . .

I think I might have passed out a little just reading that description.
I had sauerkraut and pork tonite. It didn't hit the spot tho.

I took leftover roasted leg of lamb and dumped 1/2 can of san marzano tomatoes and jarred mixed roasted veggies in garlic marinade (artichoke, eggplant, zucchini) and let it sit on low for a couple of hours. Not exactly a braise because I kept checking on it.
Salad of cucumbers tomatoes, red onions and sprouted bean mix in red wine vinaigrette.
Israeli pearl couscous.
Croissant bourbon bread pudding (also leftovers in the freezer) for dessert.
And I couldn't taste anything because I've been sick and my tastebuds are dead.

^ It's a shame not to be able to taste such a great meal. : (
I have a big pot of ham and bean soup on the stove (made with regular and black soybeans to low-carb it). It smells so good.

that lemon garlic chicken was FABULOUS! i had it poured over a bed of rice, a mixture of brown, red and wild (that i get at the bulk food store) along with some steamed mix veggies. mmmm.... mmmmmm.... GOOD!

Oh, that is just complete silliness! I believe you're an absolutely fabulous cook from reading your posts! And I certainly have days when things just don't work out as I'd like.

probably once every two years...

Far more often than that.
At work it's a bit different since it's a very straightforward mindset and it's just executing technique, so yeah, I'm not screwing much up and I do put up some excellent stuff, but sometimes I decide to play with stuff at home and at the end it's just "well, that didn't quite turn out the way I envisioned it". Heh.
I'm usually the one to make family meal at work because it lets me just cook and everyone will eat it. The joke is that I'm chef de family meal. If I didn't cook it, we'd be eating lousy, half-assed food all the time. It would basically be heavy, cream-laden pasta all the time and whatever scraps of meat thrown in.
Recently I made enchiladas because we have a ton of dried chiles. I wasn't pleased with the way the sauce turned out, so I tried to fix it by tinkering with a few things since I didn't have time to soak chiles again. Well, it was edible, but I was not happy (and see this is why everyone benefits from me making family meal--- I actually care about how it turns out). Bring the pan out, and it got cleaned out and everyone was happy. Go figure.

The makings of French Dip sandwiches are in the oven. The house smells amazing.

Last night we had tamale pie with black beans on the side and some tomato, corn, and pasilla pepper salsa. My brother in law cooked and it was fantastic.
