Mmm.... My mom makes a blended lentil soup with bacon. I love it!

What's in your grandmas?
Red lentils, bacon, onions and carrots. Also a blended up bay leaf that I forgot to take out before blending.

Mom just invited me over for dinner. Teriyaki salmon, corn, and either couscous or grilled sliced sweet potatoes.

I have another cookie making gig (making 10 dozen Italian wedding cookies for a graduation party) so I'm guessing I'm going to be eating cookies for supper. : )

Oh my gosh, those look good! And they're so pretty too! Are those the kind with the anise flavoring?

I am having chicken soup which I wouldn't normally touch in the month of August. But... It's a cooler rainy day and I feeling under the weather.

Worn out iPhone. Need I say more?

We make these lemon or orange, especially for events like weddings, etc since many people do not like anise. But I do love anise!

Bacon, lettuce, tomato (from our garden, woot!), avocado, and roasted chicken sandwich

Cumin deviled eggs

And I made the Mexican street corn salad again but I added onion, bell pepper (from our garden!), red & orange pepper and a roasted poblano. Mr. Spring couldn't stop raving about it and I inhaled mine so I am going to be making that all the time.

All four of us have a cold, so it was homemade chicken noodle soup.

I always thought I didn't like anise flavoring because my mom and her mom didn't like it and only used it in tiny amounts and offset it with other flavors. Then last year when we were back in PA for my mom's funeral, one of the cousins brought a big plate of the cookies like the ones you made, and these were full-out anise cookies. Holy moly, they were good. I like your idea of using the lemon or orange though. Now I want cookies.

Tonight will be baked fish with a parmesan pine nut crust, roasted sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts (these 2 veggies were made for each other), and local sweet corn - bodacious, butter n sugar, silver king. And yes I will eat one of each. : )

Looked rainy today so I made sauce with meatballs and sausage.

No bread though BC I'd be the only one eating it. I love bread with sauce.

Chicken and veggie fried rice. I've got a fridge full of odd and end veggies I need to use up.

I wonder if I just jinxed myself typing that before I cook, which usually means we end up having something else.

Made 3 kinds of chicken today so I think I'll be having chicken for supper. Which to have - sweet spicy bbq, rosemary, or hot buffalo.
Pesto pasta for the side. Cherries dipped in dark chocolate for dessert.

Steak, baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, and beans.

Little celebration for never having to see my @ss of an old landlord again (and because the people at the Thunderbird show at hubby's work were having steak).
