I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

My dad and I went to our cousin's bar one last time because he sold it after 40+ years and will be out of there soon. It's an old dive bar with a juke box that only plays 60's rock, free popcorn, pickled eggs, $1 beer, and kielbasa on Wonder Bread for $1.50. So dad and I had all of those things. : )

My girl friend and I had pizza too...it was ok, but Mary's isn't my favorite for pizza. (Have you been there yet? Their house salad is the BEST! You have to get it with blue cheese and italian dressing...yum!)

After trying every place within decent driving distance of us and pretty much disliking them all, we always get Papa Murphy's now. We tried one from Mary's and it was probably one of my least favorites, we got it from Mountain Mike's a few times and it was meh and Round Table was probably the best out of all of them and still meh.

Rohnert Park needs better pizza. I did hear a commercial on the radio that there is a Brixx pizza in Cotati so maybe we'll try that. Just can't beat PM's price though, my word.

I remember you telling me about the salad at Mary's though and it certainly makes me want to try it.

Falafel in a pita with romaine, tomato, and cucumber.
But why the frack won't my flippin falafel patties stay together? Same recipe and same ingredients I've always used but suddenly the chick peas are too dry and it won't stick together. Grrr. Still tastes good tho.

I gotta put salmon patties on the menu for next week.

Tonight we're going gourmet with leftover pizza.

Tomorrow we're grilling a t-bone steak and probably baked potato and I'm not sure what else.

Parmesan salmon, corn on the cob, little red potatoes, and asparagus. I cooked this all in my rice steamer in 25 minutes! I love it. Dump in all the food, add spices and flavorings and set the timer for 25 minutes on the steam setting!!

Last night we invited our neighbors over last minute to throw something on the grill with us so we kind of cobbled together our dinners.

Tbone
Smoked ribs
Grilled peppers and onions
Baked potato
Cole slaw
Deviled eggs
Bread

Tonight we had:
Smoked pork chops
Purple hull peas
Rice with tomato gravy
Deviled eggs

Yummmm, BF made the best dinner tonight...

Pork chops marinated in molasses, soy sauce, sesame oil, etc. for 24 hours, then pan fried and served with jasmine rice and a stir fry of fresh bell peppers, onions, and button mushrooms topped with a peanut-coconut milk sauce that had a serious kick to it!

Oh man, can't wait for the lunch repeat tomorrow

I took some beef, bacon and monterey jack smoked sausage and sliced it up to saute with some bell peppers then mixed in some tomato sauce I made a few days ago and had it with pasta. We also had a salad and some sunflower seed wheat bread.

Chicken fried rice, pickled beets. I was still hungry so I cooked up a big batch of cabbage sauteed with garlic and onion.

Homemade cobb salad with shrimp. Meh, it was ok. I'm in for a weekend full of wedding festivities, so I figured I should eat one last healthy meal.

Chili topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, Fritos and cilantro.

I've realized with chili I need to just stick with keeping it simple because how I made it today was exactly how I like it. I've tried other recipes and nothing comes out quite right, but this basic recipe is it for me. It was nice to eat something I made and think "Damn, this is good.", that doesn't happen often.
