Finally, finally! I typed out what we were having for dinner and it actually happened! It was such a perfect meal, yum.
We also had banana pudding for dessert thanks to our neighbor and her mom and it was so good I feel like I could die happy on the 21st.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I'm not sure what shade of crazy I had going on when I said I'd make dinner tonight, but that was a bad idea since I've been in the kitchen all day making goodies for tomorrow and I'm nowhere near done.
I was going to make chicken noodle soup, but we'll see what happens....

Sorry about your creme brûlée, but I cracked up when I read that.

I didn't have a blowtorch so I used the broiler. I ended up with soup.

I was afraid that was the reason, but I would have pegged you for a blowtorch owner.
Strain, use it as a sauce with a quickly made cake and call it anglaise?

Or heck, chill it, whip it, and serve with shortbread and fruit.

Romanesco was a hit! I'd never had it before, but it was pretty and i figured it'd be similar to broccoli, so I cooked it similarly and it was really tasty. I'd definitely buy it again.

Tortilla soup and tamales!
And I also made the cornbread for tomorrow's dressing.

Xmas eve dinner was as my house. Pasta with tomato and meat sauce, pasta with olive oil and garlic, pasta with alfredo sauce and chicken. Shrimp cocktail, relish tray with ranch and blue cheese dip, Italian bread, cookies, caramel apple pie, cheesecake, candy. For 5 people. I ate way more than my stomach is used to so it's been unhappy all last night and today.
Going to my aunt and uncle's for dinner tonight as we always do on Xmas day. She makes kielbasa with peppers and onions every year and that actually sounds good to my tummy.

Turkey with gravy (only bought a breast)
Cornbread dressing
Cranberry orange relish (thank you Trader Joe's)
Mashed potatoes
Cream peas
Apple pie (bought in Julian, Ca)
Pumpkin pie (once again, thank you Trader Joe's)
All of this for two people! Really missing my family right now.

Roasted duck, mashed garlic potatoes, steamed carrots, pan-fried peppers, sauteed apples, and GF banana bread. Just for the two of us. I expect leftovers.
I made bacon-cheese appetizers, but then ate them last night. Such a pig. LOL

Tonight I'll be roasting a chicken in my brand new enamel coated cast iron dutch oven. I have been dying for one of those things! Let the cooking begin!
