Chicken strips sauteed with maple syrup and Louisana hot sauce (sounds icky but it's really good), penne with olive oil, garlic, and hot pepper flakes.

We baked some chicken and did some pinepapple. If you ladies haven't tried this my mom cuts up pineapple rings and smothers them in barbecue sauce. She bakes them and oh my. ♥

Steak chicana with Mexican rice and tortillas. Was yummy.

I start a new job on Monday and it's a little bit of a drive. I need to start prepping my meals the night before or something to prevent me from just picking up food on the way home. Maybe I can cook and freeze stuff so when I get home just pop it in the oven? I need a game plan haha I love to cook but have never really made my meals ahead of time

I make and freeze stuff all the time, for lunches and dinners. Today I made meatballs and sauce, chili, cabbage rolls, and chicken fried rice.

Supper was penne with olive oil, garlic, hot pepper flakes, and chicken.

I have no idea what I am having tonight. I might pick up something. Tomorrow I will have a choice of ham, wild hog, turkey, beef, deer, bear, chicken, an absolute ton of sides & sweet goodies.

And so the holiday eating begins...

*I am actually looking forward to the deer and hog. It's a Georgia deer, and those taste better than our deer because of differences in diet. That plus the guy who hunted and will be preparing them has game when it comes to game. He does an excellent job.

I'm having deer too. Deer heart with green peppers, hot peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Roasted sweet potatoes and parsnips.

You probably won't find me eating the heart, though I know many who love it. We'll probably be having deer stew or maybe a tender roast. It just depends. I've only had deer a few times. I refused to eat Bambi for years (of course that movie messed with my little head), now I eat Bambi once a year. Bambi is delicious. Even as nacho's.

No wild animals tonight. There were a few large emergencies today, several people were still out on those, and one was the hunter chef.

I did have ham, turkey, deviled eggs, cream corn, green beans, yeast rolls, sweet potato dumplings, enchiladas, banana pudding, my cake.... I probably gained 10 lbs, but I only had healthy cereal today, with 2% milk, so I would be ready. One has to plan ahead.

^ On that note, seriously have no idea how people went back for seconds. I only got small pieces/slices/scoops of each and my dinner fit on one plate. Some loaded up 2 or 3 times. Noooo! I was stuffed before I had cake.

a month ago my manager hired a chef who previously worked at a higher end Italian restaurant. everytime i worked with him i would ask him to make something special and he obliged. they were some of the best Italian dishes ive ever eaten. i knew he wouldnt be with us for long and this week hes gone at least i got him to write down 1 recipe before he left
