What's for dinner?

Typical conversation from my childhood:

Me: Hey mom, what's for dinner?
Mom: Food
Me: What kind of food?
Mom: The kind you eat
Me: Seriously, what are we having?
Mom: Nothing if you keep asking.

Leftover rice noodle and grass fed ground beef dish that I'll fry to crisp up the noodles and add parmesan to make it feel different since we've had it for 3 days now! I'll either add snap peas for extra crunch or make the last csa artichoke (since we get more this week anyway.)

I totally thought that as I typed it and left the wording to amuse myself.

I'm super happy halibut is in season! Pan fried some in butter, shallot, white pepper and celery seed last weekend. Yum!

Tried morel mushrooms the next day (to accompany cod). I was unimpressed. They didn't have anything unique (other than appearance) or particularly yummy about them. They were shipped from half way across the US so may try fresher local ones this weekend. But last weekend's weren't worth $60/lb.
Pork loin roast that has been marinating all day and then cooked on the grill. Tossed salad since I ended up not doing that last night and red potatoes also done on the grill.

A recipe for butter chicken and I've never had butter chicken and it's probably not authentic, but the ingredients sounded good so I'm giving it a go. We'll also have steamed broccoli and naan on the side.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Ok...just have to say that pork roast was AWESOME!!!!

Tonite I was hankerin for garlic so I made what we call 'white macaroni'. Lots of garlic browned in olive oil, toss in some hot pepper seeds, parsley, salt, pepper and add pasta. A quick comfort food that reminds me of my grandmother.
