Default Whatever happened to.....

Dorothy Hamill? I'm not sure what made me think of her, maybe the Winter Olympics having recently aired.

She was an awesome figure skater.

I remember her well. The last I saw of her, she had a baby in her arms and was very slowly and carefully gliding on the ice. I hope she's had a good life.

She was always so elegant and graceful on the ice.

I found this clip from the '76 games:

She wrote a few books, battled breast cancer, and she's remarried.. this is her third.. and she has one child. She still does some guest appearance skating in some shows.

I know, right? My next door neighbor cut her hair exactly like that. Her hair was stick straight, so it worked well on her.

Does anyone remember that Hamill was the spokesperson for Clairol Short & Sassy?

Come to think of it I did see someone recently that resembled this and wondered, is the Dorothy Hamel hair making a comeback????

I do remember the short & sassy!

Well, I think I have seen some ladies sporting the Hamill Wedge, now that you mention it. I think you really have to have the right features and face shape to pull it off. Otherwise it can start to look like an old lady hairdo. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

I never used Short & Sassy. My hair was down to my butt back then so I used Long & Silky! LOL!

Me too!

Wasn't that haircut known as The Wedge?

I always thought she was adorable.

I don't know what the cut was called....I thought it was a bowl cut for women? I couldn't pull off the short N sassy look at ALL. It would end up Short N Poufy

Maybe, if I keep drinking, I will. But there's no telling if I'll get it right (for one thing), and it's so EMBARRASSING.

You go first, okay?

How convenient, DEL2C. How perfectly convenient.

Somebody has to go first. That's all I'm saying. And it's not going to be me.

I never said I had the Hamil Camel DO of any variation...you did! I desperately wanted it but the hairdresser talked me out of it. Gave me another weirder and uglier DO instead.
