I think my dog might be eating cat poop

There are outside cats that poop outside in our yard. Under some leaves in the back yard. I think my dog goes back there and eats the poop, its hard to tell because from a distance it seems like she's just sniffing around in the leaves but then she's smacking her mouth and stuff like she ate something! Today she had bad diarrhea and pooped twice in different spots in the house. She didn't eat anything out of the ordinary so, maybe it is as I suspect she's eating the cat poop from outside....any dog experts know what to do about this?

Apparently its a sort of disorder called Coprophagia, and there is medicine for it, but I feel weird thinking about having to get her medicine.

I heard it's normal but its really disturbing.

Sometimes cat poop will taste like their food. Some cat foods aren't 100% digestible and that's why dogs like it.
My dog has been known to indulge in le poopoo. She has eaten her own and neighbor's dog variety. No feline poop that I know of.
I don't think it's out of the ordinary for dogs to indulge. They're dirty dogs!
My dog is usually supervised so she is very limited in doing this, but it sometimes happens.
I wouldn't worry about it...just supervise her more if you see that she's getting sick.
I wouldn't get her medicine for it, unless it seems to happen a lot.
Nasty, I know!!
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

My dog loves the tootsie rolls from the cats' litter.

Hell yeah she's eating it--it's like doggie crack. LOL

It's more of an issue when dogs eat their own feces (with regards to the coprophagia). The only way to get her to stop eating the cat poo with meds would be to give the meds to the cats, which would in turn make the feces unappealing to your dog. Are they your cats? If not I'd say your best bet is to just keep her away from that area (or try and deter the cats from your yard). She could pick up worms from the cat poo, so I'd take her in to the vet for a quick fecal check, too.

There is something called Forbid but its added to the dogs food to make their poop taste gross. It won't help with the cat. He does it because he thinks it tastes good.

Then feral cats would come and have babies and then we would give away the babies but then sometimes they would hide the babies until they were kittens but mature kittens so we have like 5 that my mom has taken to get shots and neutered and spade as she couldn't bear to get rid of them and then some are feral cats that we can't get rid of. (didn't mean to tell my cat life story here lol)

I guess I will just keep an eye on her at all times outside and make sure she doesn't go in that area. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow about the diarrhea.
Its so odd that you posted this turtles because my dog has the EXACT same problem. But the weird thing is I find it laying around so I don't know if he's actually eating it.

My dog likes to eat rabbit poop - it kind of looks like his kibble. I just try to keep him away from it as best I can.
One, of the more "charming" quirks of doggies. Some of them love eating poo -- looooove it! We had a Shih Tzu that barely finished pooing and immediately turned around and wanted to eat it. Ewwwww!

Another reason I am more of a cat person.....
All dogs like to eat poop. Hell they lick their own butt. My dog use to raid the trashcan for poopy diapers.

This is so grossin me out!!
