I have been using Selsun Blue for the past two weeks and I have noticed although it seemed to be working in the beginning I have noticed that my hair is less curly on the top. It is as if the shampoo is stripping my curls and causing my hair to look frizzy. I also believe my scalp is really sensitive. Anytime I use certain products that are CG my hair becomes oily and white residue builds up after wards.
It’s hard to explain…I usually use deva low poo and the no poo and then L.A looks sports gel and plop or diffuse (not every day though. Mostly I air dry) but for some reason my hair is oily after several hours. Why is this? I make sure I rinse out enough.
What gentle shampoo can I use? That won’t cause white residue?

You could try a baby shampoo like Johnson and Johnson. That will work fine!

My hair characteristics are different than yours, but I've always found that Deva products leave my hair feeling gummy. I'm having great results currently with Shea Moisture or Jessicurl shampoos.

Update on baby shampoo:

It turns out it takes out more oil because babies produce so much. Get any shampoo of your choice, take the empty Selsun Blue bottle, rinse it out, fill it half up with the shampoo of your choice and half with water. Shake, and you're done! It might seem really runny, but if you lather it in your hands before using, it will be fine. Plus, you won't be stripping your hair!

ABBA Pure Gentle gets the scalp very clean but leaves the hair feeling "normal". It's made for sensitive skin. I have eczema, and I like it a lot.

Trader Joe's also has a "Tea Tree Tingle" shampoo that I find gentle and helps with my itchy scalp. (I have seborrheic dermatitis.)

My favorite organic sulfate-free shampoo is Max Green Alchemy Scalp Rescue, but it's a bit more pricey.
