Product help for fine hair please!!

Hey All!

I need some product help. I recently received my hair analysis and although I figured i had fine hair, I was super shocked to find out my hair was normal porosity with normal elasticity as I had thought my hair was pretty fried from a recent bad hair color that had to be fixed.

Anyhoo! Can any of you give me your routines with the products that you use if you have the same hair type as I do? I've done the CG for a while, but never had great results, but now knowing my hair type, I think i was using the wrong products and using too much of the right products as well.

I'm really hoping to get this right and have my hair looking better than the dry mess it currently looks like!

Thank you!
Natalie

fine hair does well with protein so look into the "protein-craving" section of this site... you'll find lots of protein-rich conditioners. you should also be doing PTs if you're not already. I like the gelatin PT (easy, cheap, accessible) and the Spiral Solutions PT.

there's a few fine, normal, normal threads... you're welcome to look at my siggy.

I low-poo 3x a week, use a rinse-out conditioner with protein (sometimes I add Colorful Neutral Protein Filler to it for an extra protein kick). I do a lot of conditioner only styling with my LIs. I've also gotten good results from jellys like SS CEJ and flax seed gel, as well as hard hold gels. I used to do extra virgin coconut oil DTs but now find I don't need as many. Regular protein treatments (1x a week ideally) have significantly improved my hair.

I'm still experimenting in terms of styling, but I have a good handle on proper haircare and my hair is in really good shape. Healthy hair is a necessary foundation for having it "look good" IMO. The rest is playing with what result different stylers can give you, and what your preferences are.

Hope this helps! Feel free to browse my siggy since we have the same properties.

My fine hair didn't do well with the CG method so now I just use products that work for me. My hair is processed as well, and I find that It feels thick, soft & luxurious with protein. Two things I found that work is CHI Keratin mist and Organix Keratin Oil shampoo and the conditioner. Both are not CG friendly but work outstanding for me. I have no complaints about either one, except the Keratin mist has a strong smell. At first I was scared of using protein, since a lot of people talk about it being drying and making your hair brittle. Totally just depends on the person and their hair. My hair feels so much stronger and healthier since using protein, I am pretty happy I started using it in my routine.
