^ Thanks for the compliment!
My sister and I went to a local salon the other day to have pink streaks put in our hair (it was a fundraiser - all the proceeds went to breast cancer research). My sister also had her hair colored and cut so we were there for over 3 hours. In that time I had every stylist and just about every customer come over to ask if my curls and color were natural and to compliment my hair. After awhile it made me blush but it was nice! : )

I wanna see a pic with the pink streaks, jeepy! What a cool idea for a salon to do! And really wonderful that you participated!

s'very cool, Jeepy my mother and sister both had breast cancer...thank you for supporting the cause!
I would like to thank all the older, non-dyeing curlies here for giving me the support and renewed self-esteem...my one colouring blip will never happen again, cause I know now I can be a killer curly silver fox Yay! Ageing doesn't mean "curling up and dyeing" lol! (my apols for the very bad pun! I just couldn't resist..)
To those of you who *do* dye your curls, I meant no disrespect - I fully understand the weirdness of ageing, and the desire to look fresh for as long as we can and hey, I did it too, the once. So I get it!
Ageing...is a strange and beautiful (and sometimes disquieting) journey...For some weird reason, I never thought it would happen to me. Now that it is, I am learning to to groove with it ;D

Embracing!!
I love my grey streaks! They're actually white, not grey, so eventually I'll be platinum. The streaks now just look like blonde highlights unless you look closely. They're quite a bit more coarse than the rest of my hair, and they're mostly very curly, so it will be interesting to see how my hair changes as I have more and more.

Good luck with your Deva cut, Banjocurls you have gorgeous hair, I love how young you look! It's like - since you don't fight your ageing, you are not ageing - if that makes sense?
I too have a question - does grey hair come in curly, or different...? I only have a few skinny bits of it, so far it is curling...but I was just curious about what it does when it comes in full. Or is that entirely personal to one's own hair...?

banjo - I looked up your question because I was curious. It was interesting to read the list of 'rules'. They accept gray, dyed, and permed hair but not bleached hair. They sell the gray hair and use the money for their regular expenses.
knotty - Gray hair is very individual. Some people have gray hair that is just like their other hair. Some comes in kinkier or curlier or straighter or coarser or finer.

about two years ago i got really tired of having to bleach my long hair every two weeks to cover my grey roots. plus, i was broke.. Luckiy for me my hair grows quicky and i now have long curly white hair. I get compliments on it daily, usually when i've been wondering if i want to color it again. i started going grey in high school and am only (?) 45. I still havent changed my make up palette or the colors of the clothes i wear... looking for advice on that as well as hair care products.

Great pics, hawaiikaren! IME, I rarely see ladies with long curls that are naturally gray/silver, let alone all white/silver. Beautiful and unique! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Your hair is awesome, Karen. Plus, your gray/ white does not seem to add years to your look.
My hair started turning gray when I was in high school and I am so slack at getting my roots done. One of these days I am going to transition.
