Barbarosa - I want your hair - it's gorgeous! My curls are similar, although the top layer is looser as far as curl goes! I posted over on the thread about shine for grey/natural hair color about why I don't go grey, just yet anyway.
About what my greys look like, the biggest concentration of them is on top of my head - those are silvery-white. The ones that are scattered through the rest of my hair are duller, yellowed-white, the sort that does NOT look nice against my complexion. Unfortunately, the latter type are the ones around my hairline. This all is what I see when looking at my roots, since I still color.

You DO hang around some awesome gray curly girls, banjo! You all look fab.
I'm also the only gray girl in the room most of the time. And usually the only curly girl too. I like it. I never feel invisible as some ladies say they feel as they get older. Lots of attention, lots of compliments. And just a general feeling of freedom. It's been a good thing.

You all look fabulous! Truly fabulous!
I know this is an older thread but to answer the OP: Sparkly grays.
I have more white in front and streaking white throughout the rest. I never dealt with those wiry grays as some call them – I think mostly because I long began to condition my hair to a healthy state before deciding to let my gray come in.

Wow, pretty hair guys.
I'm streaky along the hairline and I'm getting a sprinkling of sugar on the top.
Like this (and pardon me I'm not wearing my wavy curls in these ):
But I kind of am in this one when I was just realizing I was a wavy instead of "dried-funny straight." I wasn't trying to encourage the wavy curls yet. My curliest bits hide in the back where there is little silver. I always feel in awe of the curls you guys get.

sunshineliz -- I think your greys look great!
Jeep, I've always loved your hair
In the past year, I've really gotten grey. First in a streak, then I'm starting to get sparklies everywhere. I decided to let mine grow in because I was done with the constant dying and upkeep (I did it just for fun before lol) and because they did grow in such a nice color.
Now, the greys are finally starting to grow in at the nape of my neck, but insanely curly -- I have wavy hair at best, and this stuff at the nape of my neck could almost be called 3c -- its not spiral, but a very tiny s formation. SO bizarre as the rest of the hair at the nape of my neck is the straightest of all.
Overall, I agree with Jeep, grey hair is incredibly beautiful and dramatic. Even if it isn't sparkly white, I just love the natural variation.
I will admit, I don't really care if it makes me look older -- though I'm sure my friends wouldn't tell me if it did lol, they know how much I love it, so they wouldn't spoil my fun.
