MEDMEX - RIPOFFS

RedCatWaves -- I know you've been using this company in Mexico for awhile without problems, right? When you've received the orders in the past was there always a return address?

I've never even noticed if there's a return address or not. I've been ordering from them for probably about 3 years. Never a problem. I hope this is a one-time thing, and that they resolve the issues. I'll continue to order from them, because they sell legit products. I use a special CC with a low limit for all my internet shopping, so I'm not too concerned about it really.

I pulled up the website that charged my bank account & I talked to a man there. He refused to help me unless I gave him my card #. Of course, I refused & he refused to look up my account under my name. He said he was affiliated with 1,000's of accounts. I'm switching banks.....Like I said before, I will never order online again.

i was a bit confused with the switching banks part.

can't you call your bank and have them close the account and open a new one?

Not to dispute anything said here, but even if you don't order online, you shouldn't get a sense of false security.

My credit cards have been compromised repeatedly. Some were cards I had never used. We have to use special cards for corporate expenses and those in particular seem to get hit hard. Nowadays your information is stored on a database even if you order on a phone or purchase in a store. If the database is hacked, your security is compromised. What a mess, TJ Maxx was hacked, I never even shop there, but all the banks just issued new cards for everyone. Makes me nostalgic for a cash and barter economy.

Be safe out there, curlies!

KurlyKarenLee, did you contact medsmex? I did & all I got was a response telling me they don't sell their customer's info & are very careful with their security. I responded back to them about what happened to you & I don't feel this is just a coincidence. I told them I wished they would take this matter more seriously.

We've had 2 credit cards compromised recently. All overseas orders. Only one set of charges actually went through and we were reimbursed. They were interesting charges. The ones that went through were for airline tickets in France. Someone else tried to buy $2,000 worth of clothes online in Australia and another person tried to buy $600 worth of clothes from Ralph Lauren and have them shipped to Pakistan. This person actually used my e-mail address so that I was notified. What a moron. The charge had already been denied by the time I saw the e-mails anyway.

Don't forget to put a fraud alert on file with the 3 credit agencies and request copies of your credit reports.

I'm still ordering from the net, but using a citibank virtual card now.

Wow. I just had a fradulent charge on my card a week and a half ago, and I ordered some Retin-A from Medsmex about two months ago, after reading about it here.
Well, I'm still glad that I had my account # changed before any issues developed, and will definitely be using the virtual card system...my concern now is that I ordered Retin-A on the 10th, and I still haven't received it yet. I know the website says to allow up to 21 business days, but everyone seems to have gotten their stuff within a two-week period...

Well, thankfully I did get my package today, intact, items sealed and professional packaging, etc. Since people were questioning the lack of shipped-from info, I just wanted to report that there is a return address of sorts on the box and the enclosed invoice:

Cozumel No. 47-101
Col. Roma C.P.
06700
Mexico, D.F.

For what it's worth...
