MEDMEX - RIPOFFS

manual can be secure. where i used to work, manual would show on the bottom of the receipt because we did not have the card to swipe, just the number and expiration date to enter into the machine. Now, how they store the credit card information is a different matter.

Stupid me. I've been so busy that I hadn't cancelled my debit card. When I tried to buy lunch today using it, I was told to call my bank. I did & was told there was a block on my account, becuz someone tried to purchase from a family ancestry site totalling $109. They were off on one of the 3 digit #s on the back of my card. I told them it wasn't me & they cancelled my card & sent this to their fraud department to investigate. Medsmex replied to me again tonight. They are still stating how secure their site is & told me that the emails from the porn sites would be becuz "I" have visited these sites. I told them what happened to my account today & advised them that the fraud department is investigating this & since they insist on taking no responsibility, then I didn't see any reason for us to make contact again.

I had 3 porn sites email me again tonight. I blocked them, but I'm sure there will be more tomorrow.

No, my account is fine. The bank didn't let the transaction go thru & immediately put a block on my account, so no one, including myself could use it. I was assured my account was fine & I all I have to do is get a new debit card. They immediately cancelled mine, so whoever was trying to use it couldn't. This was so stressful. I use my debit card for almost everything. I was at work which is a very long distance from my home & I only had a 1/4 tank of gas. I was going to get some when I got near my house. I also have to drive a far distance today to my grandson's b'day party. I wrote a check at my work so I would have cash for gas at least. I'm going to my bank this morning when they open so I can get a temporary debit card & use this until my new one comes in the mail. I've certainly learned a hard lesson. Thank God, it wasn't worse. I got paid recently, so I have a good amount of money in my account. It would have been horrible if it was all taken. I had sent out checks to my bills that were owed & they would have all bounced. My ordering online days are over. I know this won't protect me 100%, but I feel more secure.

I live in Mexico City and I had been following all the Medsmex frauds reported by several curlies.
I was kind of surprised because living in Mexico, Id never heard about this company.

Today I saw Curly Girl Fla post and was very much surprised and confused because that address is in Mexico City very near my home and in nice building at a very nice neighborhood.
I thought from a previous post it was located in Cozumel, a free port.

Searching the Internet the last week I found that medsmex was located in Oregon (4233 SE 182nd Avenue. Gresham, OR 97030. United States. Telephone, fax: 503 650 9616), but today I found this blog where I finally understood how this company works having two different offices, one in Mexico and one in the USA. http://medsmex.blogspot.com/ (there's a link in their website)

Greetings from the Staff at Medsmex.com
In an effort to personalize communications a little more with our many customers, we enter into the world of blogging...............

My name is Debbie Kersey, President of Today's Business Corp. My offices handle the US Customer Service Office for Medsmex.com. I am the daughter of one of the two owners of Medicine Mexico and I can tell you that I have been with the company from the very beginning. What started as a family business, combined efforts of two families ~ one in Mexico City, Mexico and the other in Oregon, United States has changed much within the last 10 years. We have decided to create a place that our customers can check in and find out the latest news. This is the place & I will personally post as often as I can.

It is here that we will continue to update you about our people, our products, and our services. As new products are added to our website, updates about current specials and promotions, discontinued products, etc. we will let you know as soon as we know.

We extend a huge Thank You to all our loyal customers that have been with us for so many years and would like to share with you and to our future customers a little history about Medsmex.com

What started almost 10 years ago with a handful of people, between 2 offices in two different countries has grown to include daily operations of about 30 people. Medsmex.com is a registered corporation in Mexico City under the name of Medicine Mexico. Our corporate office resides in the heart of Mexico City and this is where all orders are packaged and shipped from. We also have an office located in the USA, contracted to handle all customer service, email correspondence and phone calls regarding order status or new orders placed. This makes it much easier for our customers to contact a live person for assistance and reassurance that you can communicate with a real person prior to placing an order.

The concept of Medicine Mexico (http://www.medsmex.com/) was created by two good friends, living in two different countries that knew with thier combined efforts they could build a business that was essential for people lacking insurance to help cover the cost of prescription medicines around the world. The products sold thru Medsmex.com are sold in Mexico without a prescription and most cases the cost to purchase the products are much lower than in other countries and many products taken off the market in the USA are still available in Mexico for sale.

All business related to Medsmex.com is handled by our own employees, in our own offices. Information on our customers is not sold, leased, rented, etc. to anyone or any business.
Medsmex.com does not outsource any advertising agencies, we do not have affiliate programs, we do not purchase products in bulk from other countries and re-sell to our customers. All products are manufactured in the USA or Mexico. Our product are all prepackaged by the manufacturer and shipped direct from Mexico City to our customers thru the Mexican Postal Service.

We thank you, our regular customers, we welcome you, our new customers and we look forward to providing you with our services.

You can reach us toll free at 1-866-medsmex, you can reach us by email at support@medsmex.com or you may reach us by LiveChat on the home page of our website at http://www.medsmex.com/

I've noticed that medsmex has revamped their website...wondering if it's in an effort to make it more secure...

I just got an email today saying that there has been suspicious activity on my PayPal account. I haven't used this account in years. I didn't even think it was active. They have suspended it unless they hear from me to reopen it. I feel like I am being stalked.

Or, just delete the email and don't worry about it...that's what I do now.

I have multiple email addresses. One clue to me that something is not legit is when I get an email at my work email address (which I don't use for anything except work) from a "bank" or Paypal or ebay. We have all kinds of spam blockers and firewalls at work but the flood continues. I've also gotten emails from "ebay sellers" thanking me for my purchase (I don't do ebay). It's pretty random...we're all being stalked en masse. And if you believe the emails, we could all have bigger penises!

You can be sure Ebay and Paypal are not going to send you an e-mail where you have to type in your password --that's the biggest giveaway. Never click on a link in an e-mail; always go to the site.

I just ordered from medsmex again using a virtual card. I still want the Retin A and my pharmacy told me it was $160. My insurance won't cover it since I don't actually "need" it. Obviously the insurance companies are not run by women over 50!

You need a different number for each vendor so basically nothing else can be approved. "

I've actually set a virtual card up for a monthly payment for a computer class for my child. I limited the amount per month that can be charged, made it good for 6 months, and once they used the number, that company's name is associated with that virtual number. I did this because the daycare vendors tend to have issues at times with not stopping the service when requested, but I get a discount for provided a cc #...Love it!

The prices are higher than medmex, but cheaper than US pharmacy. I didn't have to sign for delivery. In terms of security, I don't know if it is better but I do prefer their generic retin-a cream, because it is much smoother and easier to apply.
