MEDMEX - RIPOFFS

I have gotten some retin-a cream from

www.4cornerspharmacy.com
http://www.4cnrs-skincare.com/

which memes mentioned in another thread.

The prices are higher than medmex, but cheaper than US pharmacy. I didn't have to sign for delivery. In terms of security, I don't know if it is better but I do prefer their generic retin-a cream, because it is much smoother and easier to apply.

I originally had a Rx, but have upped my strength since the original script was written, and have made out fine. Since I am 50, my insurance doesn't cover it, because as we all know, middle-aged women don't get acne. I checked out the prices at 4 corners, and they really aren't bad, especially the generic. I agree that the security there can be compromised as well, but I do need to place an order soon from somewhere and am just wondering what might be the lesser of two evils.

No, I didn't need a prescription.

I was afraid it would take forever to arrive (I think they say on the website that it can take up to a month?) but it wasn't that bad, maybe 2 weeks. I'm really pleased with the consistency of the cream, I can smooth it right on and it sinks right in.

Has anyone ordered from medsmex lately? I was wondering if people were still experiencing fraudulent charges or if anyone has found out for certain that those charges originated from medsmex.

Castella,
Are you still happy with your 4corners order and the generic retin-a you received from them?

I'm trying to figure out what to do, as I need to do something pretty soon.

I generally order from 4corners also....I've never had any problems with them and my orders arrive fairly quickly. I get the generic retin-a product which I actually like better than the name brand....I think it's called retin-o. There is no prescription required

This thread is the reason I registered to this site. I am still so friggin mad over what happened to me that I searched online this morning to see if my situation was an isolated incident or if others were going through the same thing with Medsmex. I can see that there are many people who are getting ripped off

By the way, hi everyone.

I have been ordering from medsmex for years with never a problem. Until 3 months ago when I placed an order for a couple of drugs to help me in getting pregnant. I had prescriptions for them but I ordered through medsmex because my ins company wouldnt cover the meds.

I placed my order with medmex and ONE WEEK after I placed my order, which let me make clear, I had used a credit card that I had never used before! I had not used it for anything! Well, one week after I placed my order I went online to see my c.c balance and low and behold my $10k limit was halfway maxed out by the same company over and over. Mind you my medsmex order was only for a couple hundred bucks.

I called my credit card company who told me the name of the company who was charging my card, it was a type of payment processor not unlike paypal. It processes payments for THOUSANDS of websites, mostly to do with porn.

I flipped out and called the 800 to the payment processor who would not look up my account without me giving him my c.c #. I was furious but at this point my card had already been charged, they ALREADY had my c.c # so what was the point in not giving him c.c number to verify. Plus I knew I was not going to be liable for these fraudulent charges.

They guy at the payment processor told me all the charges were made from one guy who was signing up to different porn sites everywhere. He gave me all the site's names, hegave me the guy's email address, and the password he was using to all of the sites. The payment processor guy was actually pretty decent considering......I called my state police, filled out a police report and now the FBI is involved. They issued a search warrant to get this guy's IP from the payment processor.

Everyone investigating this knows that medsmex has EVERYTHING to do with this! The police are saying it's either an inside job at medsmex or someone has hacked into their system where they store their c.c #s. My husband is a computer admin and he said we would all be shocked at where corporations store their customer c.c #s on their server at and that any freshman hacker could get into it.

The fact that MEDSMEX did NOT notify any of their customers right away of the breach shows me it is either an inside job or they don't care enough about their customers to do the right thing. I will never ever order from them again!

I never called medsmex about this because I knew it wouldn't do any good.

I cannot wait til all this comes to a head. Remember, I had neverr used that credit card before so there was NO record of it online or of anywhere of its use before! This fraud is a direct result of my ordering from medsmex back in Sept. If anyone orders from them now then all I can say is you are asking for a load of trouble, and your credit card is now easily being viewed by a hacker, whether its an insider at medsmex or some guy overseas, medsmex is not doing the right thing. Proceed with caution!

Would you mind telling me the name of the company who took money from your credit card? The name that came up on mine was EPOCH.COM. They also process payments for thousands of websites. At least that's what the CSR told me. I didn't give him my # to research. I cancelled my card. I'm getting emails from porn sites on a daily basis. I never got them before.

Wow. I ordered from Medsmex back in Aug or Sept and haven't had any fraudulent charges. At least not yet. I did alert my cc company about problems that others have been having and I do check my cc transactions frequently. If there is a problem at or with Medsmex (and it sure sounds like there is) I guess I have been lucky (so far). I'm glad that the police and FBI are looking into it. I guess the only good thing for me is that I placed a reasonably big order, so I won't need to re-order anything for awhile. That'll give me time to locate other sources.... or decide to just suck it up and pay for it legitimately. I'd feel like such an idiot if I had to explain to my husband that I screwed up our credit rating by ordering wrinkle-reducing RX-only drugs from a place in Mexico...

The company was "EUPAYNET.COM".

My c.c company immediately closed that account and issued me a new account number. Oh, and one interesting that I forgot to add before, while I was on the phone giving the c.c company fraud dept the police report number and the state police investigator's phone number etc, there was ANOTHER porn site charge going through as we were talking!

It was unreal!

I am so fuming mad but thank goodness the police are taking it serious enough to get the FBI involved. Someone is going to be brought to justice, and if Medsmex continues to be in the middle of this they will get shut down.

Are you in aroundabout way trying to tell me that this was my fault and that I should be ashamed? I am new here so maybe I am reading you completely wrong and if I am I apologize in advance, but how is identity theft anything for someone to feel like an idiot over? Thieves are everywhere; I did nothing wrong and I certainly don't feel like an idiot. In fact I feel like I am a prudent well informed consumer who regularly checks my credit cards statements online once a week, checks my credit reports every day and gets alerts to any changes right away. This is how I found out about Medsmex because even though I have never had a problem I am always aware of the dangers.

I didn't have to "explain" anything to my husband, why would I? Sh*t happens, and he would never make me feel like I had to come to him subserviently in some sort of embarrassment. Guess I lucked out in the kind of man I married.

But I wouldn't presume to tell you or anyone else how to feel.

I think you completely misunderstood 2poodles statement. I don't think she was implying, in any way, shape, or form, that the fraudulent charges on your credit card were your own fault. I also don't think she meant that she would have to "subserviently" explain anything to her husband. I think she was just expressing how men, generally speaking, don't understand what we women go through to look the best we can. Hence, buying creams from Mexico might not be something they understand.

Men aren't always understandable about the extremes we take to look better. They consider us to be high maintenance, but they really like the results. Screw them!

I don't have curly hair at all. I have long blond hair a few inches passed my shoulders. I used to have really thick hair that was kind of bushy, and I hated it, because I have so much hair, but I found an amazing hair dresser that is worth her weight in gold; and she practically charges that much. lol

She gave me an amazing hair cut that thinned out, with layers, my thick bushy hair to the point that it looks perfectly sleek and thin, even without any gloss or anti frizz products. The bushiness and frizz are history. I got the cut about 3 months ago.

It's strange, for the last 15 years whenever I got a hair cut it was no big deal, only my husband would compliment me, but now everyone from friends to even the postmaster has says something great to say about it. It's pretty cool.

I wish I hadn't waited til age 39 to do it. Still, is there really a need for a $150 haircut? I couldn't believe it when I stood up to pay and she told me how much it cost.

(Ive got another appt with her this friday.) There's major upkeep with this style, hopefully she won't charge as much this time around.
