Funny that this came up. I was having a discussion with my husband about what wrinkles are, exactly. I told him I have wrinkles, and he said I didn't. I then pointed out that I have lines on the side of my nose and mouth (the kind that show up more when make a facial expression) and he said that those weren't wrinkles - everybody has those. He said that he has them, too, so I said that he has wrinkles, then. (He's 38 .) He said that wrinkles were the little lines that some people get around their eyes and in their foreheads which I don't have, so I don't have wrinkles.

Then yesterday the woman who works at the dry cleaner's didn't believe I was over 40 because I don't have any wrinkles. But I still think I do. I think the lines around the side of your mouth and nose are wrinkles.

I watched an interesting set of videos on youtube recently by Eve Pearl. She wrote a book about using makeup instead of plastic surgery called Plastic Surgery Without the Surgery. This video showed some ideas on how to hide lines.

I haven't tried it yet but do intend to as I have the forehead furrows also. They started when I was about 18 and I hate them. (The video doesn't specifically show forehead lines "disappearing" but shows other lines.)

I have some pretty strange and strong skin reactions to certain things so I'm afraid to try Botox.

The woman in the video with the wrinkles is very over-made-up, and that is under studio lights. I think she would look scary in broad daylight.

I just loved Barbara Walter's facial expressions when Eve was saying "no woman should need plastic surgery." She looked like the cat that ate the canary!

I don't think I agree with her. I think the older you get, the less makeup you should use. That first lady looked great because she was YOUNG. The older lady --well, you notice they didn't get a closeup.

That makeup was horribly thick, and would only make someone look older if you saw her in person. I find I use less makeup as I get older. I'm always striving for ways to soften my look.
