I am 53, my birthday is in June. I cannot believe how old I am!! I want to retire in 6 yrs. when I turn 60.

Seriously tho, age has nothing to do with being old. One of my sisters has been 'old' since she was in her twenties. My mom is always saying "Why does she dress like an old lady and why doesn't she get herself a modern haircut?". But most of my family is very 'young' no matter what their age is. I look my age, but I don't feel it or act it. My 16 year old stepdaughter thinks I'm young and with-it. We both shop in the junior department, listen to the same music, watch the same shows on tv. Age is in our heads, no matter what they try to tell us in magazines and movies.

Well, I can tell you that some days I'm 50 going on 80 and some days I'm 50 going on 30. It all depends on how my health issues are 'treating me' day to day. I can only hope I tend to look the latter, not the former or it could really get depressing!

I work with someone who dresses like her mother, has very out-of-style hair and glasses. Nobody can believe she's actually younger than I am. I've known her since she was in her late 20s and she's always been an old lady.

yes, i noticed this at my high school reunion--some were very matronly in appearance, others very young. I posted a pic of me and my friends at our 35th reunion in my pre-cg album. we are coming up on our 40th HS reunion next year and starting to plan dates and events. scary but fun!!
