Default my first post to this board and... waaaahhhhh.... my HAIR!!

it's too short!

those of you who've been around forever like i have might remember that i have PCOS and that my hair barely grows at all.

it's taken me YEARS to get it past my shoulders with only having it trimmed twice a year.

this past weekend i went to get my first trim in 8 months.

maybe it was the stress of moving and changing jobs and having my whole life turned topsy-turvey.... but i had such severe breakage and splitting that it just couldn't be my usual quarter inch trim. i needed more than an inch lopped off all around!

so now... my hair barely sits at my shoulders - and all i want to do is cry!

Drew says he doesn't care about the hair, but obviously i DO!!!!!!

i just wanted to vent at some people who would understand...

now, i think i'm going to have to live in my almost-waist-length wig for the next year...

Sorry to hear that Rou. I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as you think it does. You would look gorgeous with your hair at any length.

Welcome to this board! I'm so happy you found us. We can use your make up expertise.

So tell me, what do you think of Botox?

I don't have the money for Botox either, but it is on my priority list whenever it is when I would have some extra cash (haha).

Is there anything that REALLY helps the dark circles and wrinkles?

My best friend had botox done for her wedding (2nd). It looked "strange." Fortunately, it only lasted 3 or 4 months.

ETA: rouquinne, I'm sorry you are upset about your hair. I totally understand. I can't remember the last time I trusted anyone to even trim mine. Mine grows slow also.

dark circles are mostly hereditary - and the skin under your eyes is very thin, so the blood vessels really show up there.

raise the head of your bed a few inches so blood doesn't pool while you're sleeping. try creams with Vitamin K and get a good yellow or peach concealer.

sunscreen is still the best thing to stave off wrinkles (you knew i was going to say that, didn't you? ), BIG dark sunglasses prevent you from squinting in sunlight which helps prevent crow's feet, and i wear big floppy hats and carry a parasol.

i have a HUGE "crack" across my forehead because i raise my eyebrows all the time when i'm working on the computer - guess where i spend most of my days. i should tape my face when i'm at work!

i got the clip-in extensions!

well... i bought some off ebay after trying them at a local wig shop!

i couldn't justify spending $250 to buy them when i'm moving in 3 weeks.

but i got them on ebay for WAY less than that!

when G&M pay me for the column, i use those funds for my ebay buys or to get hard-to-find MAC stuff at Specktra. so, this time... it was extensions!

i can't wait to get them!

and i'm still looking at other synthetic falls to have fun with!

in the meantime, it's been so hot that i haven't blow-dried my hair once since i had it cut - that's a miracle for me!
