Roux Fanci-Full was a lifesaver for me when I first started letting my grey grow in. I'd wash my hair and after it was dry I would just take a cotton ball and dab the dye right on the part of my hair to cover the roots. I used it every day for months and still have half the bottle left so it was certainly an economical way to make the growing out process easier. And it does no damage at all to hair. Great stuff.

I borrowed a friend's camera and took updates today. Then I tried to insert photos in this post- like Jeep did- but haven't got that figured out. So I added them to the fotki link: http://public.fotki.com/donnafina/Through-the-years/

I have a long way to go, thank God it grows quickly!

If I did even lowlights, I would not longer be a 49 year old hair virgin.

Unlike with other parts of the body, you can become a hair virgin again.
Once whatever process grows out completely, the hair is once again considered virgin.

donnafina, Your greys are blending in beautifully. And you have such great skin! Jealous!
Nice pic of your chest by the way!

I use ImageShack to post pics on here.

I too admired Donnafina's pretty skin, her hair is growing out really well and looks great too, but the skin glows.

For those who want to try FanciFull, consider
trying the mousse version- I found it easier to apply
than the liquid, and it doubles as a styler.

I've now successfully grown out my grey. I went the
"several chops" route, with hiding parts/roots using
styling products, until the roots were 2 inches
long and I got it chopped down to that. It's
grown out about an inch since that and is looking
better all the time. I don't like very short
hair on myself, but it was better than the two-tone look (my dyed
hair was a reddish golden brown, and the roots a very
cool-toned salt and pepper- a big contrast).

I've done this growout 3 or 4 times now. I'm hoping
this will be the last! I think the difference this
time is that I really *like* my silvers, rather than
feeling ambivalent about them.

This is a perfect way to put it!

Aww, that's so nice! I'm afraid when I loose weight- all that loose skin might turn into wrinkles! My grandma looked like a pound puppy by the time she was 50! But she lived most of her life on the beach, and chain smoked... Maybe I'll be ok.

I was showing off... No, it was an oops. I'm learning how to use technology!
