How do you care for your newborn's hair? My hair is 3C and my husband's is 4B so I'm guessing her hair will be 4a or 4B, but what do you use on baby's hair?

Rinse Out Conditioners: Trader Joe Nourish Spa or V05 MM
Leave In Conditioner: KCKT, Elucence MB
Deep Conditioner: Add honey and olive oil to any conditioner
Moisturizers: QB Burdock Root or Amla Heavy Oil
Stylers: Kinky Curly Curling Custard, Eco Custard (eco styler gel + olive oil), Jane Carter Curl Cream
Oils: Olive, jojoba, coconut
Butters: NONE!

My children's hair was not as curly as what you're anticipating for your newborn, but I used to rub EVOO on their heads. I mostly did this to keep their tender skin moisturized and help with cradle cap (my babies didn't have much hair at birth, it grew in curly later), but I'm thinking this shoud work for keeping the hair soft and moisturized as well. I had my babies before I knew anything about CG, so I always used baby shampoo to wash their hair, but only about once a week.

My husband is 3b and i am 4 ab. Child 1 is 3b, 2 is 2b, and 3 seems to be 4a. I simply use calendula creme or burts bees baby oil with vitamin e.

Thank you both! I was thinking EVOO or jojoba. She will be here tomorrow - I'm getting induced now - and the ultrasound picked up that she has a lot of hair on her head LOL. I think I may have been given a gift of the Burt's Bees too. I don't want to over do it with a newborn, but I'm just trying to plan ahead LOL.

I only used water. Regardless of curl, newborn hair is very fine and naturally moisturized. Same for the skin. They need very little interference, and too much will just disrupt the natural balance that keeps their skin so soft.

Even for cradle cap, I only used water. It caused no harm and it went away on it's own on time.

My daughter is 2 now and her hair is prone to tangles because she moves around alot at night and she gets food in her hair. I brush with a tangle teezer (very gentle brush that flies through tangles), wash with water, and seal with olive oil. That's it and she has gorgeous 2b/2c hair.

2c/3a-M-ii porous, good elasticity, APL, dark brown with a silver lining. Biggest enemy: frizz!

How are you able to get all the food out with just water? This is what I wrestle with, with my 2yo - she gets jelly, etc. in her hair and then it's sticky and tangled. I don't want to over-shampoo it, but I don't know how else to get the sticky out. :/
