Default Need advice for 4 year old curly girl

My daughter is 4 and I would love advice on her hair. I have no idea what type of hair she has (am thinking 2C or 3A), how to style and care for it, whether to cut it or not. I've attached a photo below. Her ringlets can be fairly tight and her hair is impacted by humidity. She does have a straighter section in the back, so I can't tell if she is losing the curl at all. Underneath that section it is still very curly. It has never been cut. Do you think by cutting it we will cause her to lose the curls? Would love any advice - we are trying to get a handle on styling with preschool starting!
