Over whelming feeling for a 7 year old

I have a 7 year old girl who happens to be 4a. She also has mid back length hair. At the moment I take her to get her hair straightened every 2 weeks and comb and brush and oil it every other day and place it back in bows at night.
While I'm thinking of cutting back the heat visits to once a month or none at all...I'm concerned because I'm trying to teach her to care for her hair herself. I don't know how to teach her about detangling. Maybe I'm moving too fast. We just got to combing and am working on brushing.

My point is....How do you teach little curlys hair care?

I think it might be to early to let her do it her self .teach her so she knows but doing it her self i wouldnt let her but my baby is only 15 months so i haven't gotten to that stage yet

I am thinking when she is 10 to 12, but now expect to help her with taking care of her hair
