Default The Hairy Elephant Salon (St. Louis area)

My daughter has been to a local salon that caters to kids a few times in the past. It's called The Hairy Elephant and they have 2 locations in the St. Louis area. Just today I saw on their website the info listed below:

"Natural curls are a whole different ballgame, aren’t they? But with the right strategies, the right products and a little practice, you’ll find it’s easier to work with your child’s natural curls than against them and get beautiful results.

Curls are all the rage right now, so there’s never been a better time to help your child celebrate the hair they were blessed with. Our stylists recently completed special training for kiddos with curly or wavy hair. So call today to schedule a one-hour “curly hair consultation” where a specially trained stylist will evaluate and style your child’s hair, walking you through each step of hair care as she goes. We’ll even send you home with a list of tips and suggestions.

The Hairy Elephant also carries sulfate-free hair products created especially for curly-haired kiddos, including Fuzzy Duck®, MopTop™ and Curly Q’s.

NOTE: We’ll be cutting your child’s hair DRY, then shampooing/conditioning the hair afterwards. To get the most from your consultation, it’s best to shampoo and condition your child’s hair as usual, but let it dry as it falls naturally so that we can detect every curl, wave and cowlick—please, no brushing, combing, clips, headbands, caps, hats, etc. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call in advance."

A few questions:
Does anyone have experience getting this type of cut for a 3 year old? Is it worth the potential behavior hassle? One hour seems a long time to try to keep her focused. Wondering if I should just get a normal cut until she's a bit older. Her hair is very fine, wavy in the back, curly around the face, with ringlets showing up when it gets humid. She's just now letting me do something with her hair on a regular basis (headband, pigtails, etc.). I've been CG for just over a year now and have tried a few products on her hair (stuff I'm using on me) and she loves it when I take the time to maker her hair "curly like mommy's." I want to instill in her a pride of her curls at a young age, but just don't know if sitting through this type of haircut is appropriate for her age. Thanks for any feedback you can give!
