How to prevent knots forming at night

My daughter, 3 yo, has gorgeous goldilock hair, I think 3b. It is always such a fight to get the knots out. I try 2 times a week to finger comb her hair in the tub with lots of conditioner, loreal no sulfer for curly hair. But her knots are mainly on the back of her head where she rubs her head while she sleeps. Is there anything I can do to eliminate those knots from forming? Like creams or a silk night cap?

I would give the sleep cap a shot. If she won't wear it or if it comes off at night try a satin pillowcase. Pineapple her hair too. Should help with the tangles

Silk or satin pillowcase and/ or sleep cap, 'pineapple' or loose braid. Also try conditioner only washing instead of shampoo.

you could try a low ponytail/bun too

For younger kids who twist and turn a lot in their sleep, I would do pigtail braids for her to sleep on. This helped my younger cousins soooo much!
