Default Bi racial baby hair help

Hi. My son is bi-racial, 8.5 months old and I think his new hair growth is around 3b/c. DH usually bathes him and just was washing his hair with live clean baby products- his hair was looking texture wise like mine-2b. Then we went swimming, I put sunscreen on his head (lost hat) and after he got wet suddenly these beautiful tighter curls appeared. DH and I decided we want to grow and encourage his curls but not sure how. I have tried grapeseed oil and bed head moisture maniac as a leave ins but no repeat curls. Any product recommendations suitable to his age and hair type?

Try applying the leave in conditioner to dripping wet not damp or towel dried hair and do not brush. There are various tutorials on YouTube on the Curly Girl method as applied to little ones.

There are many curly kids ranges - CURLS CurlyQ's and It's a Curl, Ouidad Krly Kids, Kinky Curly Tiny Twirls, Mixed Chicks Kids for example. The CURLS line is supposed to be organic/ natural and is available in Target and Walmart.
Korkscrew likes this.

Thanks for the advice! In Canada and we just got a target near us a couple of months ago. I will check it out for those products.

My son is biracial as well and i was worried he'd always have straight hair (I'm black and wanted him to look more like me you know). Anyway, the day after he turned 1 his curls just came out of no where! Literally, id kinda given up, then after his birthday they literally showed up out of no where. He's like 3b/3c now. He's also blonde now lol. Anyway, his curls may come back after his first birthday like my sons did.
