Help for my many curly little ones !

Hi,
I am new here but as well as needing advice for my own hair I have some questions about my kids hair too. I have 6 (yep 6 lol) children. My oldest son, 11, has kind of slightly wavy hair but has a short style and it isnt really an issue. My oldest daughter had gorgeous curly hair ( 3a I would say) when she was younger but it has gradually got straighter, and now only has a tiny bit of wave left to it. Do you think this is due to my bad handling of it? I have to admit it has traken a battering over the years with shampoo, lack ofproper conditioner, and brushing
Do you think it may be possible to get some of her curls back?
My next daughter (7) has 2b/3a hair that is gorgeous. I do avoid brushing it, but wondered what I should do with it in the morning when it is kind of messy/tangly . Do you all use detangling spray and just style with fingers or wide toothed comb? Think I will also try a sort of modified CG approach with her.My next daughter (4) has some slight curl, but quite a lot of frizz. I'd love some tips on tackling kids frizz
My youngest daughter (3) has gorgeous 3a hair. again it does get very tangled so need tips on dealing with this.
And my baby boy (16 months) is just begining to develop the most gorgeous softest little curls on the back of his head. What is the best way to care for baby curls and encourage healthy curly hair to grow?

Would love any tips from parents to fellow curlies....

Meanwhile willcontinue the battle to rescue my own neglected mass of frizz!

Hi!
I'm from the Uk and mum to 2 girls age 6 and 9
My 9 year old has thick straight hair, so her hair is quite easy to deal with
my 6 year old has fine 2c/3a hair which breaks easily
I've been CG with her hair for 18 months on and off and Ive saw a great improvement....but now its got worse again
I'm struggling with tangles and frizz, I started using poo and cones again last week but it got worse so I'm back to CG
I have used loads of products and the latest one Ive used is Curl Junkie Curl Rehab which Ive just used when I bathed her this morning

Routine this morning:

Shampoo'd with sulphate superdrug kids shampoo (as been using cones)
Curl Junkie curl rehab as rinse out and leave in (in strawberry ice cream scent-yum!)
Tiny bit of Pink Boots

I'm going to use superdrug kids cherry conditioner as her co wash as this is on offer at only 49p and detangles really well, I'm going to DT with Curl junkie curl rehab once a week,

I use and love Kinky curly knot today but I'm getting a bit low and it's hard to get in the uk

I use and like california baby detangler on her dry hair for putting up in styles ect

I have a big tub of KCCC -tried and worked well for the first few times not so much now,

I have big bottles of KBB milk, nectar and super silky- love them but try to use sparingly as can't buy in the UK

I have tried all Jessicurl products- don't agree with her hair because of the mag sulphate

I'm trying Pink Boots at the moment- will let you know

Nice to know there is another uk mum with little curly's!
Trying to work out my 5 year olds 2c fine frizzy/curly hair

Loving KBB and Kinky Curly!!

Hi there mumofcurlygirl. I think kids curly hair is going to be even harder to manage than my own. Will have to try out some of the products you suggest, got some pink boots curl creme today - mainly for me, but will also try on a couple of my DD's I think.
Think I'll definately try CG for at least a couple of them and see how we go.It is frustarting though that there arent so many good products easily available in the UK isnt it. (or maybe there are but I just havent found them yet LOL)
Good luck on finding your perfect routine for your little one.

I'm sure you could get her curls back. When I was little I had 3b curls all over but my poor mother who only had a slight wave in her hair had no idea what to do with my hair. So she brushed it and it turned into a giant cotton ball on top of my head. As I grew up, I grew out my hair, which wasn't much better- it just got tangly and frizzy and lost it's curl. By the time I was 12 I could take matters into my own hands. I chopped off all my hair to above shoulder length, stopped brushing my hair altogether, started using a lot of conditioner and experimenting with products. I didn't go CG until now but if I had known about it back then, I would have done it in a heartbeat.

Good luck and I'm sure your kids will thank you for caring for their hair so much when they're old enough to appreciate the gorgeous hair they have!

In the process of discovering curl junkie and protein/deep treatments!
my little on has beautiful 3a/b curls and finding the right products has made a major difference on the appearance of her hair. with no product she has frizzy hair that doesnt look as curly as it actually is. shes on a (modified) CG routine, as is the rest of our family.
so my favorite products for her are:
- lush seanick shampoo bar. i shampoo her hair once a week. the rest of the time i co-wash or just refresh it with spritz. giovanni makes some good sulfate free shampoos and theyre easy to find (walmart, target, health food stores, etc).
- california baby calming conditioner. great as a regular conditioner, a co wash and as a leave in.
- curly hair solutions curl keeper. this is her HG. it gets rid of her frizz but doesnt make her hair look like she has product in it. it doesnt really provide hold, but i dont mind since shes only 2. plus you dont have to reapply everyday. refresh it by spritzing it with water or a detangling spray.
- kinky curly knot today- its a good leave in conditioner. very light.
- kinky curly curling custard- a little goes a long way. gets rid of frizz and if you use the right amount it wont leave the hair hard or crunchy.

im still on the search for the perfect spritz/detangler/refesher. im currently using rainbow detangler for kids or ouidad sun shield leave in conditioner spray. i ve also used loreal kids detangler spray and loved it. the only bad thing about it is that it has a 'cone. im going to try kinky curly spiral spritz next.
thanks for all your messages.Subbrock your daugter has gorgeous hair.
Well I gave my 4 girls a last sulfate wash yestrday then a co-wash with an apple cone free condish, then a condition with GumHair double cream conditioner.
Then a tiny bit of pink boots, and plopped the older 3. The youngest daughter was not very well so went straight to bed with damp hair.
The results are great! My oldest daughter, who had almost totally lost her curl has some gorgeous wave back again, still a wee bit dry so may need to work on that a bit, my 7 year old has some lovely long loose spirals, my 5 yr old - who has not so much curl naturally - has some lovely wave - again still a bit dry and frizzy - her hair is similar to my oldest girl I think. And my 3 year old has lovely loose shiny ringlets. Her hair looks a little bit weighed down , I think the rich condish may have been too much for her, and also is possibly to much for regular use for my 7 yr old who has fine hair....but on the whole very pleased with the reults.
Am going to get a few other things to try next time I go shopping
Feeling very happy about my little curlies....just wish my hair would respond so well....then again it has suffered a lot more abuse thanthei hair!
