Sometimes I despair for my home state.
|
Hey, join the club. I'm embarrassed by my state very very often.
|
I like your Governor, though.
|
Me too! First he said he'd tell the President to "go to hell" and more recently he told the NAACP they could "kiss my butt." Now he's using the storm guideline that if Marden's is open the state is. Marden's is a discount chain with seconds and such in Maine that he used to run! Oh! and he he appointed his daughter to an administrative assistant position in the state with NO experience and a starting salary of $40,000 a year. That's more than entry level teachers make let alone admins.
He's just such a classy guy. Making Maine look so good. |
Wait, are we talking about Pa.'s Governor or Maine's Governor?
|
Don't feel bad..we've got Allen West..he's not from my district, but still.
I feel your pain. |
I just wonder if Boehner's tears turn to gold when he's tanning.

But if you mean Rendell, yes he was the bomb. He was in my office a few times and I just loved him. And when he was at our local Democratic dinner last fall he stopped talking to a group of people and shouted out to me in front of everyone "I just love your hair. Gorgeous!" : ) |
Yes, I mean Rendell.
I can't believe he said that to you. I mean, I can, but.....what a guy! |

Phew. I thought I'd missed a lot of semi-local news, or something.

Well, had you read the whole thread --- all 12 posts of it --- you'd know I was referring to Rendell.
But thanks for the correction and prodding, here and elsewhere. |
Ok, I'm not embarrassed by my state, but I am by our governor, plus a few other state politicians. McCain is just starting to restore a little of his dignity.
|
I'm Alaskan. I have more shame than all of you combined.
|
Florida here. I still can't believe Rick Scott. smdh

Yep, I think alaskantsunami wins this round.

I certainly concede.

I think the worst part about it is, when the Penn governor, or the Ohio one, or Arizona, you can kind of avoid the topic if you go somewhere else, you know? You say you're from Ohio or Pennsylvania or wherever and most people don't immediately want to talk about your governor (or ex governor). I say I'm from AK, and they don't care about our amazing wilderness, or culture, or our amazing history from the gold rush to the earthquake. All anyone wants to know about is Sarah Palin. They assume we all know her personally, and the subject will not change. It's really frustrating when my state has so much to offer, and she stands in the way of that.
My Alaska is not Sarah Palin's Alaska. |
