Other. Spreading Christianity, along with spreading democracy (which is the quickest way to spread Christianity), along with oil (that's just greed, I guess, but he could say he wants to have the money to spread Christianity

), along with retribution for his "daddy" (honor thy father and mother - so he can still fit that into his religious views, too).

That's a huge, and over generalized statement. I think the war was for alot of reasons, many of which we will never really know about. But for you to imply that whatever the president does, as a concensus, represents EVERY single person in this country, is quite ignorant. But, you are entitled to your opinion.

do you think that soldiers of other country ,languae ,culture and religion in a condition of war can be really friends to the people they occupy......it isnt a movie where a happy ending is a must.

not every single american approves the war .......i know that...but what about the people who elected bush?
and those who didnt elect him and didnt approve the war ....what did they do to change their government opinion?

i ve never visited america.....but i read american magazines ...i listen and watch your channels and movies ...and i saw how your media is twisting the truth

Sorry to quote you shygirl (nothing personal) but as someone who has lived outside of the US this is the general opinion of non-North Americans. It is *partially* wrong but like all stereotypes it has its roots in some sort of truth.

BTW, people from the US generalize about other people ALL of the time.

I cannot help but think of the propaganda pushed out during the interference in Nicaragua and Panama. The people of the US only find out the truth after the fact (if at all)......Not saying that the other parties are right...just saying I can understand how people would react in a situation of invasion. The civilians on all sides are the losers.

I think the war is about control and power (in all aspects).

Saadam had to be taken out of power. No question about it. We (America) had given him too many chances to stop killing his people en masse and he had ample oppurtunity to hide/stowe/dismantle and just plain get rid of, WMD's. I don't know for sure that he had them, but if he did, he would have been a total idiot to still have them by the time we invaded! Saadam is many things, but I don't think he is that stupid. We did find money from the Bank of Jordan among Saadams posessions. Joradn is known to have Al Quida

Be careful when claiming "propaganda." Just about anything that is "tainted" with a persons opinion or biases can be considered propaganda. And anything that is publicized by a government is propaganda. Government (democracy, tyranny and all in between) is tainted with people's biases and opinions, if it wasn't it would be purely mechanical, and even then it would have the biases and opinions of it's creator! All advertising is propaganda.
We are there to set up a democracy. To some degree, every time we give another country democracy, we are experimenting. But it's an experiment we tried on ourselves first!
We are the most generous nation. We give out more money and more aid than any other country. Being the most powerful nation, that is as it should be. I think the second most generous country is Australia, but I'm not sure.
Let's be honest, if America was as mean and cruel as so many people say we are, why didn't we just bomb out Iraq? Biological warfare would have "solved the problem" so much easier!! If we really didn't care about the Iraqi people, why are most of them alive and free? Not that I agree with wiping out whole nations, but so many people talk as if that is what we are doing! Yes, we are quite ignorant of Iraqi culture, and most of the soldiers over there are trying to live without offending anybody. But they are there to do a job. They are trying to keep peace, they are giving their lives to give the Iraqi people freedom and peace. Not that all soldiers over there are perfect Americans, but for the most part they are trying. And yes, they are bringing Western culture with them! It's not a conspiracy to Americanize Iraq. It is a bunch of lonely men and women trying to feel at home in a foreign land. They want that familiarity. Because they are human! Not the "killing machines" that the media likes to call them.
Yes, our government and our media are spreading propaganda. Most intelligent people are aware of that. Most people prefer to overlook or just plain ignore the propaganda.
I, personally, don't care if Saddam had nuclear weapons or WMD's. We have found multiple mass graves full of disposed Iraqi's. How many innocent people have to die before war is the necessarry evil? I know that innocent people die in war, but the idea is, after war the innocent people stop being murdered en masse. I also know that it doesn't always work that way, but that is just one of the reasons we are fighting this war.

As far as I know, the US has WMDs... should other countries invade and disarm it?

I don't understand the connection you're making between Jordan having al quaeda and Saddam having money in Jordan...

The US did bomb Iraq. Why not use biological warfare? Because the sane people of this land who pay taxes to fund wars would not have stood for it.

I don't think the intent was to wipe out Iraqis at all. No one is saying that, as far as I can tell. I have also not seen soldiers being depicted as "killing machines" by the media.
