Spinoff - When do the kids go to school?

In the VP debate thread, there were comments about the kids being paraded on stage. I wondered last night, seeing Biden's grands and Palin's kids, are they going to school the next day? Same for the Obama girls. Are they homeschooled? Have a traveling teacher?

I'm a speech pathologist and I've done work in early intervention (EI). I'm working if the little baby has started his EI which is service delivery for infants and toddlers with special needs. Maybe they're on a consulting basis so he only needs to be seen once a month. But I've seen babies as young as 7 months and 8 months. A friend's daughter has Down syndrome. Her first EI visit was in the hospital and the regular services started at 6 weeks.
I'm sure all those kids are privately schooled, and the school probably doesn't have a problem with them missing a lot of school time during the election period.

We know Bristol was out of school for a good portion of last year, supposedly with mono, but obviously she was doing more than just resting.
Obama's daughters attend private school in Chicago. They live in Chicago with their mother; they were only accompanying him on the campaign trail for the summer.

Palin has been vocal about the fact that she homeschools her children.

I have no idea what Biden's grandchildren do for school, but from what I've read his family is very normal and down-to-earth. His wife is an English professor and a breast cancer activist. Both of his sons are attorneys and his daughter is a social worker.

ok, that makes sense. I was thinking she was superwoman...running a state and teaching kids at home.

Homeschool coops can be helpful too and I imagine in AK, what with distances, etc., coops are very popular and active there. But, guessing on my experiences, not actual knowledge.

Have you seen what they are doing to kids now in DC. Arguably, the worst school district in the nation, they are stopping the vouchers.

School choice amendments was defeated, and kids in good schools have to go back to a dangerous, failing system. Including these two kids, who go to Sidwell School with the Obama girls. Why is it good enough for their girls, yet too good for these kids?

Among the students that could lose their place in private schools if the spending bill passes are two classmates of President Barack Obama's daughters, Sarah and Matt Parker, who attend Sidwell Friends School along with Sasha and Malia Obama. Deborah Parker recently told the Washington Post that the thought of sending her children back to public school frightens her.

I am fortunate enough to live in a town with charter schools. The local school district hates them and fights against them constantly. So far the local district has filed suit 3 times to bring us under the 'umbrella' of the local district. It will give them complete power over us. It will force us to bring in the teachers' union (which we refuse to do) and other changes. We've been in the top 3 HS in the state since 2002 (our 2nd year), we've been the #1 school 3 times....why are they wanting to mess with success? They refuse to put our successes and awards on the district website, and we've gotten tons of awards.

What bothers me is that there are so many other kids in the nation that are prevented by our government the option to choose. They are FORCED to state in failing schools. We are failing them. And Congress just voted to continue it.

I saw that, susan. It's a damn shame.
