Not if they trust him and he's providing security to him and his family.

But he's one big mystery. It just seems odd to me.

Maybe it's just me. At my kids' school, the PTA does Christmas checks every year for the staff, and there is one check to a person none of the parents have ever heard of or seen, so we always wonder who actually gets the check. A mystery person.

It is odd. But I can see how they might want someone out of the loop. The media is really relentless. I mean Joe the Plumber had like 100 media people on his lawn after asking a question. Can you imagine people digging into Signator's life and record? If that person is providing me security I would want him to be left alone.

If he is security, which he seems to be, then no, I don't find it odd. I think Obama definitely needs additional security, and if this man is someone that he and his family trust, it makes sense. If I were in his place, I would want redundancy and checks in my security. I'd have a couple of mystery men! You never know who/what agency can be compromised. I would not be surprised to find out that there are fools trying to plan his assassination.

Sounds like he's security. And if he's a mystery, then he's good at his job.
