Default Medical Records

Is anyone else as concerned as I am that McCain isn't being very open with his medical records? There are certain things we all know about, like his four bouts with malignant melanoma, and his age, and the fact that he was held hostage for five years and that sort of inevitably comes with some psychological repercussions. But he won't give his medical records up for anyone to have a good long look at. What's that about? Can anyone defend that?

Yeah, I'm concerned about it. It's the reason I've been hitting on Palin so hard. For all we know, McCain could have one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel, and we could be stuck with the bimbo.

To anyone voting for McCain...vote for a 72 year old man with a history of FOUR bouts of melanoma at our peril.

He should be more open with his medical records.

No kidding, they REALLY need to consider who is filling in for him. It's not a joke, it's just plain frightening. With how she is an advocate for killing animals, drilling away our environment, and being just plain clueless, I am frightened for the world in general if she becomes president.

I think that enlargement on the side of McCain's face is getting bigger. Doesn't look too healthy to me.

I'm wondering what is on those psych records. How much privacy does the POTUS deserve?

IMO, not that much. This isn't just a regular job being applied for; this is the leader of the country. We need to know what we're getting into when we put our safety and leadership in the hands of one person. I think the individual's health is very relevant to their ability to do the job.

THANK YOU! Someone said it. I'm so utterly disgusted by the idea that she's PRO killing animals. Not for food but for sport, that's just cruel beyond belief!

But then she and McCain whine about abortion and being pro-life. Who's life? Only the rich and fetuses? (or is the plural form of that word feti?)

Bah!Also the fact that's he's not willing to release them probably means he knows hes going to die soon and this is some kind of prank on the US for when he goes, lol.

I think it should be mandatory they release their medical records once they have been nominated (I would go for even during the primaries but I am sure that is pushing it!). Somehow this country has forgotten who the government is for - it's for the people - all of the people. It has become elitist. They truly do not think they have to answer to the people. But I don't like the whole election process (electoral votes etc). It should be truly a popular vote.

Exactly my thoughts on it too. I'm not against hunting for food, but for sport, it's just disgusting! I hate that they call themselves pro-life- I think they are anti-abortion- and that's it! I don't like abortion either unless there is a good reason, but I don't think it is necessary to ban it.

I thought he had released more detailed records than Obama?

It's my understanding that he released about 1200 pages of medical records to a group of reporters but allowed them only three hours to review it. That was months ago. And no one was permitted any electronic devices or note-taking materials. How anyone could be expected to dig through 1200 pages of medical material in three hours and get anything meaningful out of it, I have no idea.

That's true...they were given 3 hours to look through it, no notes or recordings of any kind allowed, AND, his most recent medical records relating to his melanoma cancer were not included.

I think the man is dying of cancer and is keeping it secret. He wants to go out as President, and he doesn't care what he has to do to get there.

I'm definitely not pro abortion, I just don't think the government should be allowed to tell someone if they can or can't have one. Rather I like it or not... it's none of my business what Mrs. Random Lady decided to do with her body, IMO.

I think Biden recently released his medical records because I remember hearing something about them questioning whether he had follow-up MRI's for his surgery for a brain aneurysm twenty years ago. A spokesman for his doctor confirmed he had follow up appointments (MRI - not sure, but appointments).

I hope McCain follows his lead.

I had a lady stop by my house last night for the Obama campaign and she said the same thing. I haven't really paid attention but I am curious how much bigger it's getting. Now I'll be scoping out McCains face.

I know we hear about the Presidents annual physicals you would think it would be something we'd hear about with the nominees.

See, I'm not so sure about this. I really feel like your medical records should be private, even for the POTUS. They should submit to a physical and be given a clean bill of health, but beyond that, I just don't think its our business.

DH was telling me that Sarah Palin hasn't released her medical records. I'm sympathetic as a woman. I wouldn't want all the details of my pregnancies and girlie issues all out there in the public.

ITA. I agree with the idea of a physical, and they all get examined by the same doctor, that way there's no catering to them or stretching of the truth by their normal physician. I wouldn't want everything in my medical records out there for the world to see either.

I'd take at least a letter from his doc saying he's copacetic and doesn't have any serious ailments. Thing is, I doubt they can do that. I have very real doubts that he's in good health, definitely not good enough health to take on leadership of the free world. It's my understanding he's been diagnosed with PTSD, which makes for a somewhat volatile mental state. He's had malignant cancer four times, once as recently at 2004. There's been much discussion about a growth on his face that appears to be growing. That's not such a great sign, if you ask me. I want to know what's going on, and I think the American people have a right to know.
