Default House Democrats Contemplate Abolishing 401(k) Tax Breaks

Since we are approaching a possible Obama-Pelosi-Reid veto-proof majority, I thought some might be interested in this article.

Sounds to me like they're discussing restructuring 401k benefits from tax breaks to other incentives (like lower retail fees). Sounds to me like they're examining the benefit of using safer government bonds instead.

Do I love the plan? No. I don't think eliminating the incentive for employers to contribute to employee retirement funds is such a hot idea. But here's my thing: I don't know all the ins and outs of how it works now or how they want it to work. And they're just talking about it. They're researching it. I have no problem with that.
