It's a cute video and all but I'm skeptical of these Hollywood vote campaigns.

For one they are not particularly effective and tend to have the opposite reaction than intended. In 2004 all the relentless get-out-the-vote drives mostly increased the turnout of older voters who lean center-right. We all know how that turned out.

Two, people have a lot of reasons to not vote and some of them are surprisingly valid. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of crap for saying that. I think we oversimplify the non-voter and assume they are lazy and dumb, when in fact they are neither. Many of them are well aware of the reasons why they should vote, and these types of things get kind of smug and condescending while failing to address more legitimate issues. Sorry if that sounds Debbie Downer-ish.

I don't fault the campaign I just question it's effectiveness and celeb obsession.
