I mean, WTF? They filmed a segment interviewing the candidates to run the day before the election and he declines?

Real smart move. Millions of young voters have tuned into this election and have woken up because of the magnitude of it. And he declines.

Yeah...I think that's a bad move on his part. MTV did a whole lot for getting Bill Clinton voted into office due to their big get out and vote drive.

I totally remember it being a huge deal. Bill was also on Arsenio, which was really cool. Really helped him appeal to so many young voters who were voting for the first time...myself included =)

I think it's pretty clear who MTV is backing and who most of the viewers of MTV are. I guess he just figured it wouldn't help. I honestly think he should have done it, but I'm not running his campaign.

I heard about this and for some reason, I didn't believe it at first. I googled it to find out if it was true, and this forum came up, lol. I seriously think that was a crazy move on his part. It goes to show, though, what he thinks about young constituents, and WHO is campaign policy is catering to: wealthy, corporate fatcats and religious extremists.

How grand.

Exactly. Also, there are many, many young republicans from prospering families who watch MTV.

Poodlehead, I'm ashamed to say it, but at the time, when Clinton appeared on Arsenio Hall...that clinched it for me and I voted for him. I was young and crazy then and that was enough for him to win my vote at the time. I'd require a lot more now in the way of information, but his appearance on Arsenio Hall really humanized him for me and lead me to vote for him.

He did MTV during the primaries. It was pretty interesting to watch. I can understand why he wouldn't do it this time though.
