This morning, I asked my mom the exact same thing that WHoopi asked her mother "did you ever think you'll live to see the day"

Bah, Elisabeth Hasselbeck disappoints! I was *kind of* hoping to see her head explode or something. But really, as much as I dislike her, her gracious response is a very pleasant surprise.

Yeah, I know. I felt like a b*tch because of it, too. hahah

Either she really is that gracious OR she remembered she has bills to pay

ITA. I wanted to see a train wreck but now I feel bad about wanting to see a train wreck.

I hate the View but I was kind of thinking it might have been entertaining to watch today, just to watch Hasselbeck implode. At least I'm not missing that.

It could all be a front though. But it *seemed* sincere enough.

I know she's conservative, not very bright, and very passionate about her views, but is she that bad? I'm asking because I don't know enough...I have only seen one show of the View when I was sick one day. She wasn't too bad that day, so I don't have a lot to go on.

Is she mean-spirited? I thought she was on there to provide a conservative point of view and although she gets bashed for being stupid (and she might be), I didn't know that she was seen as this bad person.

Can someone fill me in?

I am sure some of my dislike of her is because of her views. And she is one of those celebrities that I am not really sure how she got to be one - she was on Survivor and married a football player.

She's not evil.

IMO, she's hard headed. I think she see's the world in a bubble. A vacuum. with everyone on an even playing field.

Plus she syas things like the morning after pill is the same as leaving a baby on the side of the raod, or something like that.

I had the same thought last night. "I wish my TV wasn't broken so I could see that blonde chick pout over this tomorrow morning." Trenell, I haven't seen it (obviously) but I'm thinking she remembered she has bills to pay.

The few times I've ever watched that show she didn't strike me as being genuinely mean-spirited, but I think she is definitely very conservative, very un/misinformed, and very immature. It's made for some really amusing on-air discussions and tantrums regarding politics.

I don't see her as a bad person at all. I see her as one person with different views than 3 (yes, I know there are 4) other women on the show. So, it's 1 conservative against 3 liberals. They ALL have big mouths, attitudes and opinions. That's the whole point of the show.

I didn't see the show either ... Elizabeth isn't mean spirited. She just isn't good at supporting her arguments. She gets really upset and sometimes says stupid or incoherent things. She also seems to have had a sheltered upbringing where she only experienced the good things in life. I sometimes actually thinks she has valid points, but she says so many dumb things, that no one notices.

The only moderate on the show is Sherri, but Whoopi usually drowns her out. And I guess Joy is the comic relief, but she is also pretty liberal too.

The show is The View. I think it needs Elizabeth for her views. Her problem as well as Joy's is that they are each so far to their respective sides that neither one can admit when their side is flawed. I don't always agree with Elizabeth but feel sorry for the beating she takes on this show. I find Joy just plain mean.

I really dislike this show you have 3 against 1 and the only reason the show is successful is probably because of Elizabeth opposing view. I hope she gets her own show.

I doubt if that's the only reason the show is successful, it's been on awhile doing quite well without her on the show at all.

Who would watch her show? lol

Plus, it may be three against one, but she should shut up and listen more... understand that she's not always right. Give a little and maybe she'll get a little back.

Also, she doesn't HAVE to be on the show, it's not like it's a min wage job she has to keep to support her family. She has an option to put up with it or not.
