I HATED it. I even started a thread about it yesterday but it was not coming across nicely so I deleted it.

I didn't think it was that bad. It looked a little odd around the middle, but I actually kinda liked it.

Yup. That dress just totally distracted from the magic of the moment. She look "nukular". I was like, "get out the Geiger counter." Their kids looked great though.

Michelle as the First Lady is going to have to raise the bar on her dressing. She has a natural elegance and a great figures, but she tends to dress down, even with a designer like Narciso Rodriguez. Also someone should have told her that red doesn't play well on video. I'm hoping Oprah or someone can hook her up with a personal stylist who understands her needs but can kick the tailoring and style up a notch.

I'm in the minority that actually liked it. I thought it looked like fireworks! LOL

However, yes, there are more attractive dresses out there.

Not an attractive or flattering dress at all. Definitely noticed it and wondered why she chose it. She is tall and slim with a nice figure. No need to obscure those assets with bad fashion. Especially when you are in the public eye/the world is watching.

And, no, I don't think these comments detract from her education and accomplishments. She can be smart and accomplished and still fashionable (one would hope).

The Obama girls are very pretty and I am thrilled for them to be in the White House and setting an example for young girls of all ethnicities.

My mom can't wait for her to get her designer. Kind of like what's already been said, it's usually like this with new first ladies. She'll be looking all done up in no time. She's beautiful now but, yeah she could use a little extra style.
